Mar. 19th, 2024 11:39 amIt feels like a Linkin Park Hybrid Theory kind of day. I still love that album so much.
We went to see Wicked Little Letters on Saturday, and it was good stuff. Extremely swear'ey and funny, but when you looked beneath the surface, showcased quite horrible sexism.
After I went to upgrade my phone, going from a Pixel 6 to a Pixel 8. The EE shop had moved and is now a fancy thing with soft couch like seating, gaming stations and a coffee bar, so I had a flat white while my contract was being sorted out. Then spent a few hours once home transferring everything and then logging back into all of my apps.
Sunday it was the usual happenings, nothing of note at Company except they were giving away cucumbers. Kayleigh laughed at me when I was telling her, but like I said to her, I was restrained and only came home with two.
While there, I got a message from my oldest nephew, and James had the same a few seconds later. Now he's 18 my nephew can go out without staff support as long as he's with someone who has been approved, and we're on that list.
He'd actually also messaged us both the night before too, and just asked what we were doing on Sunday. So I replied we usually go shopping, but did he need us for anything, but it was left there with him just replying okay. Then the same message Sunday and James asked him again if we could help with something, and it turns out what he actually wanted was us to take him to a tour of a local bus depot that was happening today, but was skirting around asking outright.
Now, looking at buses is not my idea of a good time, so as we were still out at the time I made the point the groceries needed to be taken home and put away. So James got the job of looking at buses and being told many many facts about buses and transport links.
Yesterday we picked Bodhi up from nursery, and then headed for the play café. She enjoyed herself again, especially as there were only us and three much smaller children and their mams there who stuck to the soft play part, so she had pretty much every toy to herself. The best thing was, they were selling Wonka Bars -- which were actually animal bars with a self printed Wonka covering -- and we bought two. Inside one was a Golden Ticket which meant Bodhi won free entry to an Easter Event they're hosting next Friday. As we were babysitting that morning anyway it worked out well, and was a lovely prize to win as it includes an Easter Egg hunt, games etc.
Kevin is well again and in fact has just spent the last hour watching a ladybird climb around the window next to the front door. It makes a nice change him being still and not running around causing havoc.

Date: 2024-03-19 11:49 am (UTC)They really did need to be put away! Especially as it was cold and drizzly, I mean, I couldn't leave them in the car boot in conditions like that *g*
The lady in charge of the play cafe offered me a loyalty card. Guess this is my life now.
Yep, no more sneezing snots for Kevin, he's back to his usual crazy self.

I would totally have opted for putting away groceries if it meant avoiding hearing ALL about buses. Though I think I might have been at least a little tempted if it had been trains. Trains are cool!
Congratulations to Bodhi winning a free entry! I'm sure you will have lots of fun next Friday.
I'm so glad to hear Kevin is well again! Sounds like he's starting to grow up finally :-)

I know! I actually really like pickled cucumbers, so guess could have came home with more and made those. But it would have meant buying more stuff for the pickling element, so two it was.
Oh, Andrew likes trains too, but buses are his main thing. I was much happier at home putting away groceries than standing in the drizzle looking at a selection of old buses.
Well, Kevin's not totally grown up, but has settled a little. I have to lock him out of the bathroom when I'm in the bath now because he kept wanting to walk around the outside and fell in a few times. He also likes to paddle in the water when it's a few inches high. He's a weirdo.
