Mar. 27th, 2024 05:11 pmIt was my long day Bodhisitting yesterday, 7am to 6pm. She was a little star though, and we went out for a walk to get some fresh air, which helped break up the day. She also wouldn't have anything to do with her dinner, and was dropping off to sleep around five. So it was no surprise when Kayleigh told me Bodhi had come down with a sickness bug during the night. It's inevitable now she's at nursery, and really, all they can do is wait it out. It'll be after the 48-hour sickness rule, so hopefully, she'll be feeling better by Friday when we're supposed to be taking her to Golden Ticket play café win session.
Saturday gone I went to see Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, and it was fun. Nothing stand out but I enjoyed it. Metro Center was also having a mini comic con, so a load of Cos Players were wandering around, the highlight of which was when Darth Vader, followed by at least thirty Stormtroopers, came marching along one of the malls.
James had his photo taken with quite a few characters, but my favourite was Loki. The guy playing him really threw himself into the role, and also asked permission before leaning against James' shoulder for the photo, which I thought was a nice touch.
That same Saturday, I'd gone to the chemist to pick up my new compression wraps, only to find they knew nothing about them. The way the prescriptions work for them is the clinic send a letter to my doctor, who then has to order the wraps under their own system. As my doctors are closed at the weekend, I couldn't phone until Monday, where I found out while they had the letter from the lymph clinic, no one had actually passed it on to the doctor to sign off on. So, a fortnight after my appointment, nothing had been ordered, which was very frustrating. Apparently, they'll be ready to pick up tomorrow, so fingers crossed that's true.
James is off for five days from tomorrow, a mix of two bank holidays and one day annual leave. So, tomorrow we're taking my MiL out for the day, Friday, the play café if Bodhi is feeling better. Sunday, Pauline asked if we wanted to go out for dinner with her, and at some point we'll be heading to Newcastle to see Corey and give him his Easter chocolate. I will catch up on comments at some point.
I'm watching season two of Extraordinary on Disney + right now, but aim to watch X-Men '97 next. People seem to be giving it mostly thumbs up, and seeing the screen grab of Gambit on Fandom Secrets helped move it up my to-watch list. Also, I did enjoy the original series, so it will be interesting to see this version.

Date: 2024-03-27 06:23 pm (UTC)I'm gutted I've still not seen Ghostbusters! My plan was to go on the release day because it's one of my all time favourite franchises, but then everything happened with Vin and Ryan, then I got sick, and now I don't know if I'll manage to catch it in the cinema. I'm hoping I can!

Date: 2024-03-28 07:11 am (UTC)Yeah, there's no way you could have got to the opening session of Ghostbusters. I hope you do get to see it at the cinema as it was a lot of fun. Pretty much what you expect from the franchise.

Date: 2024-03-27 07:41 pm (UTC)The cosplayers sound fun!
I'd be so annoyed about the wraps!
What a nice long holiday! With some really fun things on schedule. I hope you both have a blast.

Date: 2024-03-28 07:08 am (UTC)The cosplayers were a lot of fun. I wish we'd had time to take photos with the Stormtroopers but we were hurrying to get to the film in time so had to just watch them march by.
I was so frustrated when the person said the doctor hadn't even seen the letter. I mean, not seeing it for a day or so could be excused, but nearly 14 days, not so much.
It's nice having some fun things to do. But no doubt on Tuesday I'll be ready to just chill for the day *g*

Date: 2024-03-28 10:38 am (UTC)Yeah, two weeks without seeing the letter is ridiculous.
I hear you on the 'there can be too much fun stuff'. I hope you enjoy it anyway. *g*

Oh no!! How incredibly frustrating! It sounds like either their routines need a serious overhaul or someone made a mistake somewhere. I sincerely hope you have them by now!!
I hope you're having a great Easter!

Date: 2024-04-02 02:09 pm (UTC)Vader and his Stormtroopers looked amazing! It was such a surprise to see them, and I wish I could have followed to see what they were up to.
Nope, still no wraps. I suspect someone made a mistake a filed the letter when it should have been sent to the doctor. Frustrating, but all I can do is wait.
I had a lovely Easter :)
