Jun. 19th, 2024 01:36 pmThe H/C challenge stories have gone live. I haven't read any yet, but I will very soon.
Just before the final ep on Saturday, I'm caught up on Doctor Who, and what a fabulous series it's been so far. Also, five pages on A03 for The Doctor/Rogue already. Fandom, you continue to delight me. Well, mostly.
Class went well on Monday, and there were no watchers this time. Though, a new lady did start who walked with two walking sticks, meaning the circuit didn't run very smoothly as she could only do the spots that could be modified to sitting exercises. Because of that, I ended up doing half upright planks lots of extra times, and man, did my muscles protest that the next day. It's also situations like that, when she's trying to adapt on the fly, that show that Rosie is still learning how to run her own classes, especially as she keeps overrunning, so the next class into the hall keep coming in while we're still cooling down.
Some talk about cat health, but not Kevin or Murphy
Kayleigh has a cat, Aeriel, who is 20+ and has been slowing down lately. She's skinny and stiff in her joints. This last week, Kaleigh was convinced Aeriel was suffering, especially as her breathing was bad. So, she asked if I could watch Bodhi yesterday while she and Lucy went to the vet. We were all convinced this was it, but no, Aeriel came back.
She'd seen the same vet Kevin had seen on Friday, and Michelle had said Aeriel wasn't ready to go yet, she was strong, her heart was good and she just needed different meds. So, they came back with the kind of thyroid meds that go on the cats ear, strong painkillers, and two other meds to be taken if Aeriel's breathing ever gets really bad. Michelle is sure Aeriel will fill out again and become much happier, and I hope so.
Of course, all this happened just before Lucy, Kayleigh and Bodhi go away on holiday for a week on Friday, meaning I get to do cat meds as well as cat feeding, litter trays etc. So I'll be swapping from Bodhisitting to cat sitting twice a day. Oh, and have I mentioned they got a kitten a few weeks ago?
Thankfully, James starts a week of annual leave on Friday too, so I'll be able to get a lift there each time.

Date: 2024-06-23 02:34 pm (UTC)I agree, she could have easily agreed that Aeriel needed to be PTS just due to age and ailments, but instead she's sure these meds will help and give more good quality time. They do seem to be making a difference too, it's amazing what the right painkiller dose along with other meds can do.
Rogue was fantastic! What I found interesting was how soothing I found him as a character considering the job he did. I was watching the DW aftershow and they made a point how he was there to balance out the Doctor who is very extravert and they did such a good job with that balancing act. They complimented each other beautifully, and I really hope Rogue comes back.

Date: 2024-06-20 07:25 pm (UTC)How very typical it happens just before they're going away on a holiday! It always happens like that. Lots of good luck juggling Ariel's meds and the new kitten and the rest of the cat sitting!!

Date: 2024-06-23 02:19 pm (UTC)I'm sure she will, and it's unsurprising that it takes practice to fine tune fully leading a class, especially when it has two distinct parts that both need to fit into an hour. I do think it was a mistake to move it back half an hour though, it would have helped to have that 30 minute break between the two classes, that way it could overrun a little.
The cat sitting is going well so far, and I'm quickly getting through the lists Kayleigh left. One was just for meds, but I'm glad she did leave it.
