Jan. 10th, 2004 01:51 pmI have a question for any Highlander fans out there *cough/mouse/cough*
James and I were watching the first Highlander movie last night and Connor ( I hope that was his name, I'm having a memory blip) is pushed into the lake to prove that he can't die. So he drowns, then starts to walk about breathing under water.
Now I'm confused. I know Immortals don't die unless they're beheaded, but don't they 'die' then come back to life? At least that's what it sounded like in the fic I've read. So I would have though he'd drown, sorta collapse, wake up, gasp for air, drown etc etc. Not prance around blowing bubbles like a merman on crack.
Highlander is starting on the new FX channel next week, maybe this time I'll be able to see more than about 10 episodes, and probably get more confused in the process.
Lol, Highlander talk sis, doesn't it bring back the memories?!
I've been reading OotP last night and this morning. Now I understand why all the flist was talking about wanting to smack Harry when it first came out *g* But Ron and Neville! Can I love them any more? No. No I can't.
Today's been so good so far.
castalie has an idea for a fic I've wanted from her for ages and my story is still flowing. YAY for Joey!
ETA: Okay, not so much with the happy now. Just as I posted this I heard a noise, went in the garden and some thieving scum had taken the trolley we keep out there. Is there a sign on my gate saying help yourself or something? The one time I had to unlock the gate because I'm expecting a delivery.
ETA2: My stupid sister took it and didn't bother to tell me. I can calm down from my rant now *g*

Date: 2004-01-10 07:17 am (UTC)The thing is, immortals *do* die, and *then* come back to life. That's what make it interesting *eg* They still feel pain, they still suffer, they still hurt- then they die, and then they can back to life for the whole pain cycle to start again- that is, if you're into torture stories... which everyone knows, I'm not *inserts laughter from hell*
You mean Highlander: the series is starting in England? You mean you're going to have Methos? In *English*? With his to-die-for accent? OMG! I know he doesn't arrive before S3, but- I mean, could I ask you to tape some of his episodes for me? His French voice is one of my favorites, but when I heard his real one, I realized it was even better! Please? If we both don't totally forget by the time 'Methos' will be aired, of course lol
You don't like Harry in OotP? I love him in that book. I love how angsty he is- I couldn't get enough of him *g* Also, yeah, I really got to feel a new liking of Ron, which surprised me. Or maybe it didn't surprise me as much as this new appreciation for Neville, of course! lol
Hey, I started the rimming story *g* My Muses took me by surprise, really. It was supposed to be a drabble, with only a rimming scene, and it's now a very short ficlet but with more words than planned! lol Also, it's now a Jim's POV. Go figure *g* It's a pity thought cos right when I was starting to gather my courage and start writing the rimming in question, I realized I had to stop and get ready for work. We're leaving in a hour or so. Don't know if I'll be able to finish it before then. I sure wish I could *g* We won't be back before 4.00 a.m.

Date: 2004-01-10 08:49 am (UTC)I thought so. That's the impression I had from the few episodes I saw and all the fic I read.
But torture fic! What sickos would read that?!
Hey, remember the one where Methos was burned over and over and called himself a crispy critter? Or the one his eyes were popped out with a spoon?
Sure I'll tape them. Just keep reminding me when I talk about watching HL or I'll forget.
About Harry. I'm still only about half way through the book and it's not that I dislike him, I was just saying I can understand why everyone was saying how annoying he was. But he is older and the things he's going through are enough to make anyone mad. That pen that gouges on his hand as he writes is horrible, and that's just the start!
Ron's just been humiliated in Quiddich (sp?) so I'm feeling really sorry for him just now, and Neville, he's going up and up in my mind.
About the rimming? All I can say is YAY!!!!!! Can't wait!
