Jan. 18th, 2025 04:05 pmI don't know if it had been recced somewhere, but lately, I've been getting such lovely comments on the Tints verse stories. One did make me pause a little as the commenter said nice things, then mentioned how cool it was they were commenting on something written 15 years ago and how fandom stretched in time, and man, 15 years. What is time? That was back at the start of my prolific years, which sadly I suspect will never come again. Well, maybe if I ever get sucked into a next big thing that captures me as much as bandom did back in the day, but I doubt that.
From season three has started, and I need to watch the first ep that I've got recorded. I never thought I'd get into the show, as I'm a bit of a wuss, but I really like it. Though, wouldn't watch alone at night. I've also got a new episode of Hudson and Rex freshly downloaded and ready to watch. I really do love that show a lot, and would really like a Rex of my own.
The ice melted this week and the sun has been out, so we've been out for walks earlier in the week. To the Wetlands one day, and another day to Herrington Country park. Things were a bit soggy still, but it was lovely to be out in the sunshine and fresh air again.
Thursday there was a mix-up as I hadn't realised I needed to Bodhisit that day. At the start of the month, Kayleigh always sends me a photo of their family calendar with days I need to babysit marked by my name. Thursday I saw both Kayleigh and Lucy were working, but my name wasn't there, which usually means Bodhi is going to Lucy's sister's house, but this time it was just an oversight and my name had been left off. But an oversight that was caught in time, so we got to go check out Silly Billy's play café. Where, not only did I get to dress as a dinosaur, admittedly, only the headgear, but still … but also got to repeatedly crawl around the first level of the thankfully, small soft play area.
It also meant that day, we had to bump our one to one progress meetings with Rosie, so that's now happening straight after class on Monday. I'll also have to go to the pharmacy that day as I picked my prescription up yesterday and when I checked it last night, saw they'd also put someone else's meds in the bag. They're a chewable version of my prescribed vitamins -- which were also in the bag -- so nothing dangerous if I'd taken by accident, but they could have been. And it's a careless mistake that should never have happened and needs flagged.
Yesterday we also took my MiL out for the day. She asked if we would and James wanted to check his distance driving, so we headed over the moors to Barnard Castle then back toward home so we could have tea, taking advantage of the half price Toby Carvery offer. It wasn't a particularly physically active day, but man, I was tired last night, and James was actually in bed by eight.
Today was a Bodhisitting morning, then tonight we're off to the theatre to watch Joseph and the Technicoloured Dreamcoat. Which means at some point soon I really need to get changed and look semi presentable. I know I'll have a good time, but I have to admit, staying home and watching the new Gladiators seems just as appealing right now.

Date: 2025-01-18 06:36 pm (UTC)A half price carvery sounds fantastic - it's such a nice way to feed different preferences and appetites - I hope James has fully recovered from the long drive, it'll be good for him to start rebuilding his stamina, but it's can be so tiring.
Oooh, I hope Joseph was great! It's such good music :).
Tints 'verse is SUCH a lovely story - I've got Argentumlupine's recording of it on my "your brain won't sleep" ipod and I listen to it often and am soothed. I'm so glad other people are finding it still <3

Date: 2025-01-19 01:00 pm (UTC)Yay for being able to get out and walk!
Is that the new, closer play cafe? How did it compare?
Yikes, pharmacy!
I googled Toby Carvery and it sounds delightful!
I hope you had a good time last night.

I wish I could have seen you be a dinosaur :-)
Seriously, pharmacy, that's the kind of thing that just shouldn't happen! I hope whoever was responsible got a very stern talking to.
I hope you enjoyed yourself at the theater yesterday!

As for me being a dino, check here. Hopefully, you'll be able to see.
I took the tablets back to the pharmacy, and they were concerned. But the pharmacist seemed to think they'd fallen into my bag, which didn't seem like a good excuse at all.
I loved the theatre!

Date: 2025-01-21 04:25 pm (UTC)It was the new, closer play cafe. We all liked it, it did seem aimed at a slightly younger age group, but not enough that it still didn't suit Bodhi. It also had a more industrial look as it was in one big warehouse type room. But it cost the same and was so much closer I'll add it to the places we'll go.

They do nice food, and I like you can help yourself to the amount you want. Though, of course, that means some people have mountains on their plates. Which is fine, as long as it gets eaten. The half price offer made it a no brainer to go.

I agree about the carvery, and now I tend to bring leftovers home if I've got lots left. I didn't use to, but got over myself.
As you know, I loved Joseph.

Thank you! It is lovely to get comments still, it's always such an amazing surprise.
