The gym was offering free Personal Trainer taster sessions this month, so I did one yesterday.

I was a bit dubious before booking, wondering if they'd put a hard sell on in terms of buying sessions afterwards, but the guy didn't mention that at all. He was pretty chill and nice, though, tbh I didn't get too much out of it. He asked what I wanted to achieve, I said I was pretty confident about what I was doing cardio wise, but was just a relative beginner strength training wise, so any tips would be good.

So, he took me on a circuit of the machines he thought I should do, problem was, I do them all anyway, plus others on top, and at higher strengths than he set. It was good to get tips on form and how to correctly set up seat height etc, but really it was a session that would have been perfect when I first started, not so much now.

He did say I should make the assisted pull-up machine my goal, as I tried to do that before and failed completely. Not just the pulling up part, but actually getting onto it at all. So, new gym goal for me.

I do think a PT would be better once they knew me more and what I'm capable of, but even though I didn't get much out of it, I'm still happy with myself I booked and actually went to the appointment.

And the weight talk, I'm now officially lighter than I was at my lowest weight after my bypass. Which means the lowest weight of my adult life. Not by much, and man, the rate of losing has dropped sharply, but still. Something to celebrate.

I've an ongoing situation atm where someone is fly tipping bags of rubbish near my house. The way things are set up, you walk out of my garden gate onto the public path, on the other side of the path there's a metal fence, then a steep bank with mature trees that goes down to the dual carriageway. For ages now someone has been coming and dumping rubbish at that spot, probably because between the trees on one side and the thick ivy on my fence, it's a place that's relatively hidden from view.

At first, it wasn't much, but lately it's been multiple big black bags full of rubbish, and pee'ed on puppy pads. I've had to add signs on the gate, and my neighbours has too, saying no flying tipping, CCTV in operation, and if it doesn't stop I'm seriously considering actually getting another ring doorbell for the back of the house.

I've talked to many neighbours about it, and we're all pretty sure who's doing it, it's just getting proof. The rubbish gets reported every time, and last time the council said they'd check through it to see if there's anything identifying. Hopefully, there is, as it's just scummy behaviour.

We went to see A Big Bold Beautiful Journey at the cinema a few days ago. Coming out the cinema guy asked people if we'd liked it, I said, it was okay, another woman said, that it was interesting and yeah, that sums it up.

James is back at work today, just a four-hour shift today, then two four-hour shifts next week, then gradually increasing time as the weeks go on. I'm walking to meet him at Home Bargains at lunchtime as we need cat litter, and I'm not about to carry a sack of that home by myself. But first, a catch-up on here.

Congrats on keeping the PT appointment! Too bad you didn't get much out of it. It would have been better if he'd let you show/tell him where you were so he wasn't going into it as if you were a newbie. (How does it feel to not be a newbie any longer?!! *g*)

And congrats on reaching a milestone with your weight loss!

That sucks about the garbage! I hope you can prove who's doing it.

I just read the first bit of the wiki summary of the movie and I was like, what?!! o_O

I hope the return to work goes well for James.

Congratulations - and not only are you at your lowest adult weight, you're strong and healthy with it. That's definitely worth celebrating.

What an utter scumbag, I hope they're caught and fined and publically shamed. Why on earth would someone do something so disgusting.

Yay for meeting health and weight goals! I know you focus on a healthy lifestyle, but I still bet it feels good to be at a lower weight than ever as an adult.

That does sound gross. I hope they catch the person.

I'm glad you had the PT appointment, but really, if you hadn't, you'd never know what you may have gotten out of it. But yeah, I can see where it would be more helpful when someone is first starting out.

Congratulations on achieving your lowest (adult) weight! That's a wonderful milestone, and I'm so proud of you for working so hard to make it happen!

Gosh, I hope they find the litterbug and that they have a hefty fine to pay!

Sounds like you got at least a few good things from your PT session even if it wasn't exactly what you need right now.

Even though you shouldn't concentrate on numbers alone it's still something to celebrate. Particularly since you're so much more fit and healthy now too!

I hate people who dump their garbage like that! Freeloading assholes who can't be bothered to take care of their own shit! Keeping everything crossed they'll manage to find and stop whoever it is that's doing it.

Congratulations on no longer being a gym newbie! - I am so impressed with your courage in starting on that, and your commitment to make it a regular thing.
