turlough is the best and my latest sparkle deer arrived from her the other day, isn't it adorable!?



I do love this tradition, she's sent me multiple sparkle deer now, and I can't wait for this new one to meet the herd.

We did a craft fair in aid of Consett Cats on Saturday. It was held at a golf club which meant no passing footfall, add on the fact it was raining and well, we didn't do that well. At least we made enough to give a donation to the rescue and got to meet up with some of the fellow adopters we know, so all wasn't lost. And hey, we ended up with a £5 profit after the donation, so silver lining and all that.

Good news, someone has taken on running the monthly makers market in our town, and we've got our pre-Christmas spot back. So as of now, we've two more fairs to go before the end of the year, plus maybe one possibility at my nephew's school. Also, James is continuing on TikTok and getting a few orders that way, which is great but also, still surprising.

During the week we saw Now You See It, Now You Don't at the cinema and I enjoyed it so much. It was flashy, fun and had a twist I didn't see coming, which is always a plus.

Yesterday we went to the Odeon to see Christmas Karma at the early 11am showing. It was my first cinema Christmas film of the year, and I bought a Christmas Costa drink and intended to wallow in festive feelings. Sadly, that didn't fully happen, I was really enjoying the film until about halfway through when my MiL started to alternatively call James' then my phone. Obviously, they were on silent, but they were impossible to ignore and eventually James went out to see what was up, and it turns out a family friend of his family had died.

He was a really good friend of my MiL and FiL for a very long time, and James grew up with the guy's son, so the families have known each other forever. I always enjoyed talking to T when we met, so he'll be a miss.

Some Murphy news. Last week I finally managed to get a pee sample from him, got it to the vets, and on testing it had some glucose in it, so they were worried he could be diabetic and wanted a blood test doing. He had that done on Thursday, and the results were expected today. The head vet has just phoned, and his blood results were fine, so she was confused about what had happened, asking if I'd cleaned the tray with something new or anything like that. But as that was a no, said to bring in another sample between a fortnight and a month, and otherwise, just to keep an eye on things. Of course, now I'm worrying that Kevin had contaminated the sample, and he's diabetic despite him looking perfectly healthy. Cats, there's always something to worry about.

I'm sorry Murphy has such woes. And yes, it's so tough when you have multiple cats. And of course, it's always better to have multiple cats. But it's difficult to be certain that samples don't get contaminated. That is one thing I like about having the big kitty condo. Any of my cats can be comfortable in there with 3 tiers of shelves, enough room for a litter pan, food, water, but it's not always that easy.

Having a kitty condo would be perfect to ensure uncontaminated samples, sadly, it would take up half of my house to get one.

Both cats seem okay atm, so I do have to hope the sample was some kind of weird contamination. But, I'll be keeping a close eye on both of them, just in case.

The kitty condo is so big, it won't fit through the doorway. I'll have to break it down to get it out. Unless I sell the house to a cat-lover, I think I'll be stuck breaking it down at some point. No clue where I would have put it upstairs. If/when I move out to the West Coast, I'll either need to find a spot for it in the living room, garage, or the outside patio. The only thing is, I wouldn't leave a cat outside on the patio overnight. Nope! Garage in nice weather, *maybe*. And the issue with the living room is, who wants a cat box in their living room. Plus, how often do I even use it? Mostly when I get a new cat. However, both Pippin and Ozzie enjoy just hanging out in it.

Bummer that the craft fair wasn't well attended. I'm glad you've got some coming up in Dec though, and that James is still getting orders from Tic Toc.

I'm sorry about the death of the family friend. (It seems like it wasn't urgent enough to require several phone calls, though. Does she ever just leave a message and wait for a call back?!! o_O)

I'm glad Murphy's blood work came back fine and hope his next urine test does as well. I'm sorry you're now worried that Kevin's urine got mixed in and ~he might be diabetic. Sheesh, such worry about our animals! I hope that both cats are fine and continue to be fine.

It was a shame about the craft fair as a lot of stalls turned up, but not many customers. Not that I blamed them, there wasn't even a good path to get to the golf club, just a road.

I know, right?! Seeing all the calls come in to both phones I honestly thought something tragic had happened in the family. And my MiL does know how to leave a voice mail, because she's done it before. But apparently that wasn't an option this time.

As of now both cats seem fine, and hopefully will stay that way. Murphy still has to take one lot of meds though. I was hoping I could end them all, but not yet it seems. And of course, will be on his special food for life.

I'm sorry for James's and his family's loss. May their friend be held close in memory.

No, a rainy day at a golf course doesn't sound like a recipe for a successful craft fair. You didn't end up losing money at least. And hopefully you will make lots of money at the remaining fairs this year *keeps fingers crossed*

I can see why she wanted you to know about the family friend's death but a pity it spoilt your movie time.

I see from your comments that both cats seem to be doing well so hopefully that sample had been contaminated in some way *keeps more fingers crossed*
