Jun. 12th, 2026 02:26 pmAt our doctors you've always had to phone at 8:30 to, hopefully, get a same day appointment. I've had long practice setting an alarm for 8:29 and then constantly ringing until you get an answer to then be put in a queue. I did that yesterday, only to get straight through, at number two in the queue too. But, that wasn't a positive thing. Turns out, they've changed the system and now appointments open at 8. I asked when that had changed and they said at the start of the year, which I'm incredibly dubious about as I'm positive that both me and James have had appointments in the last few months and it certainly wasn't an eight start then.
Anyway, no doctor appointments were left but I could get in with the nurse practitioner, which was fair enough as I just wanted my shoulder checking as I'm having a lot of pain reaching behind my back and thought I'd damaged my rotator cuff again. Turns out it's not that but I've pulled my tricep muscle.
She said that was lucky as it's easier to heal than a rotator cuff, so I have ibuprofen gel to use and no heavy lifting using that muscle for a while, and fingers crossed, things will be pain free soon.
As James had a day off we also went swimming yesterday. Not that I was keen at first, it was cold and raining and I really didn't want the hassle of getting changed and into the water. But once I was in I was pleased I had made the effort, and the steam room after was excellent, so hot and well, steamy.
I was talking to one of the lifeguards who said she hadn't seen us for a while, and I said that we'd been going to the big gym, mainly because of the hydro massage beds, so we had a bit of a moan about how our little local gyms don't get the shiny new stuff. Which James could have used yesterday as at class on Wednesday he tripped over some dumbbells and fell flat on his backside. He's fine, but went down with a hell of a thump, everyone stopping what they were doing to make sure he was okay.
I tell you, a pulled tricep and bruised backside, class has been brutal lately *g*

Date: 2026-06-13 02:43 pm (UTC)I told James, if he had to fall, landing on his backside is the way to go, he's got plenty of padding that way.
The hydro massage beds are fabulous! I can have a free session daily as part of my gym membership, but sadly the branch in my town doesn't have them. Which is all kinds of wrong!

Date: 2026-06-16 01:13 pm (UTC)But no, it's just one of those things. Resting has helped as Rosie's class wasn't on yesterday as she was at a funeral.
Oh, James went down with a huge bang. It must have hurt a lot.
