Having another productive day today, which you know is scaring me a little *g*

Had to be up early because the assessor was due anytime from 8 this morning, which led to me hoovering at an insane hour. I hate when people come to look round the house. I'm always afraid they'll see something they shouldn't. Not that they would, all the toys were hidden last night and the whole house tidied. So he came at 9 and was gone by 9:15 which left me in the unusual state of having nothing important to do. Sure there's ironing still but I'd cut it by half the day before and a person can only do so much ironing before going insane.

So I watched a little morning tv, and may have had a nap on the couch, but no one will ever know that ;) Then I started on clearing the mails again. I think I deleted about 1000 spam mails, all to do with sex. I always wonder do they actually expect people to click on those links? I've personal mails to do still but they'll have to wait until tonight because I was hit by the writing urge and wrote 2000 words of the Choey. I sent some of the people who're helping me the first part I did, then kept on going and wrote more. The second part was a coming out scene and I hate writing dialogue. I'll be writing and worrying about how Americans don't speak this way and it ends up stilted and horrible. It helps if I speak the lines myself which led to my own personal performance of Coming out scene act 1 . Luckily I was alone at the time because I ain't no actor *g*

I have to go make Corey's tea now but I'll be back to it as soon as I can. I'm actually quite annoyed now as two kids have just came to see Corey and they're playing on his Playstation and ignoring him. Daniel is supposed to be his friend but came in saying he'd been to two other friends and they couldn't come out so came here, Ryan is really Daniel's friend but obviously came to play on the computer. It just pisses me off and I know I can't run his life for him but I hate that they do that. Corey wants them here, if he didn't they wouldn't get through the door. I have issues with Daniel anyway as once he just walked into the kitchen and helped himself to cereal. I was annoyed that day and told him how rude that was and he was never allowed to take without asking. I used to make tea for all of Corey's friends but it was getting to the point I was feeding 5 kids and only one of them would invite Corey to eat at hers. It sounds really petty but I decided that if he couldn't eat at their houses they couldn't eat here. So I'll make his tea and shoo them out when it's done. Man, I'm being a bitch but he annoys me and I'm having to really make an effort not to say anything just now.

Okay, tea now, comments answered next, then more Choey.

[livejournal.com profile] tsuki_no_bara turned me on to the reading dialogue out loud trick, and although my cat thinks I'm insane, I think it really does help. And I know what you mnean about voicing american characters!

Can I be nosy and ask what was being assessed? [standard disclaimer. I'm very nosy, but 'none of your buisness' and a plain 'nope' are perfectly acceptable answers.]

Would it be presumptive of me to don the cheerleading outift for the Choey? Go you with the productivity!

The reading lines is a tip that someone gave me recently. I feel stupid doing it but it does help. I just make sure I'm alone because no one needs to hear my angsty scenes out loud but me ;)

Voicing American characters still trips me up. I know how important it is to get speech right so I try and remember the American words and ways of saying things but I still get caught on occasions.

Hey, be nosy I don't mind. I love to know everything myself ;) It was an assessor from the bank as we want to expand our mortgage. We're trying to pay all the debt we got after years on the dole so figure a lump sum from the bank would be the best way. I just hate sitting knowing he's looking for faults, which I know are more structural rather than how clean the house is, but I still don't want him to see a pile of dirty undies *g*

Hee, I'd love to see you in a cheerleading outfit. I bet the boys would too ;)

I was made to feel really bad once when I was a kid for taking someone's food from the cupboard when visiting, and I never did it again. Maybe the kid learned his lesson...?

I'd like to think so, I'd also like to think I didn't make him feel bad about taking the food. I just think it's rude to help yourself without asking.

I know I sounded pissy about cooking but I have no problem supplying snacks to them all, but helping yourself to a bowl of cereal is another matter.

Man, I sound like a greedy bitch today.

Okay, Ter, two things:

1) Relax. They're kids, as long as your not freaking out and traumatizing them, they'll get over it. They may go back to Corey's room or see him at school and say "Boy, your mam was =mean=!!" but you know what? They're kids, they don't know what mean is yet. And if you're letting them play with Corey('s computer) and giving them snacks, if you're not overbearing them... ..they won't think you're mean for long.

As far as their treatment of Corey goes, I know how hard it is to stand back and watch that, but you have to be careful to treat it as a responsible adult, not an angry mother. As long as the kids ARE his friends, take turns, have conversations with him while they play, etc... ..if they're not IGNORING him, it's okay. And again, they're kids. Their attention span on the current game will burn out soon enough! ;)

2) *a-HEM!* Americanese expert, right here, volunteered back when the call went out, hasn't scene even a snippet of FBR Pt. 2 yet... *taps foot*

Yeah I know you're right, and I don't think they think I'm mean or there wouldn't be so many of them here every night. Well, they probably do think I'm mean when I stop them rampaging round the house, but it doesn't stop them coming back *g*

They are his friends and they do share usually, it was just me being picky this afternoon, I hate seeing him left out. But I bit my lip and let him sort it out himself.

As for the story, you'll see it tonight. I sent it to some people then wrote some more so was waiting until that was done before sending it. So you don't have long to wait, then you can pick holes in my dialogue ;)

Bah. To those of us who have no spawn, anything you do for the little monsters friends of your children is beyond and above the call. :)

LOL, your blood-red electronic pen did good work. I especially enjoyed the snarky comments in chat to go with it ;)
