Feb. 3rd, 2004 04:40 pmI knew it was a bad idea to join
fic_requests. Now I'll do these instead of the things I'm supposed to be doing...sigh.
Anyway, I wrote Lambs, I've never done Lambs. But now I have, and
“You sure you’ll be okay? I’ll stay if you want me to.” Joey said, as he stood half in, half out of the room.
Curled on his bed, book beside him, Lance resisted the urge to jump up and push Joey out of the door. It was tempting but Joey was bigger than him, a lot bigger, and Lance wasn’t one to start something he couldn’t finish. But still, Joey was driving him crazy. “I’ll be fine, Joey. I promise to stay in the hotel and I’ve the number of the club you’re going to.”
“I know, it’s just…”
”Just nothing. I’m seventeen, Joey, not seven. I have been on my own before. I’m going to read my book then bother Justin later. Now go, have fun.”
“If you’re sure.” Joey hesitated again. “Okay, I’m going.” With a last worried look, Joey shut the door and Lance relaxed. Checking his watch he carefully marked the page in his book then rolled over so he could see under his bed.
“I thought he’d never go.”
Lance shot up, heart hammering. “Don’t do that! I thought it was Joey.”
“I’m not stupid you know, I was listening for him going.” Justin came closer and Lance felt the bed dip as he sat next to him. “Have you got it?”
“What do you think I’m doing?” Lance sneezed once as dust flew up his nose, disturbed by his groping hands. “I had to hide it under here; Joey would have found it in my stuff.”
At last, Lance felt the box he’d pushed under the bed that morning and pulled it out, passing it to Justin until he was sitting upright.
“It’s heavy.” Justin was holding the box, shaking it slightly. “Shall we open it now?”
“Where’s your mom?” Lance took the box from Justin and began to carefully pull off the tape, ignoring Justin’s impatient cries to just open it. “If she finds out she might tell the others.”
”It’s okay, she’s in the shower, I told her I was coming to watch tv with you.”
“Good.” Lance pulled back the flap, exposing the contents.
“It’s so big.” Justin breathed, peering into the box. “What else is in there?”
Lance started to pull things out, laying them on the bed, as Justin gently exclaimed over each new treasure. “What do you want to try first?”
Justin looked at Lance and audibly swallowed. “It’s your stuff, you get first pick.”
“I guess.” Secretly Lance was pleased. He would have let Justin have first pick, but he’d been craving something for weeks now, and seeing it so close was driving him insane.
Casually he picked up the huge bar of chocolate, already imagining the rich taste. Justin was tearing into a bag of Skittles, cramming the sweets into his mouth, leaving his lips stained with colour. Lance knew they’d both be sick by the end of the night, but he didn’t care. The others might have beer and dancing, he was content with Stacy’s care packages and Justin.

Re:
Date: 2004-02-03 12:55 pm (UTC)I knew it was a bad idea as my hand hovered over the join button, but I seem to have this overwhelming desire to join any writing groups that I can :(
I'm glad you liked it :)
I've never tried Lambs because it's not a pairing that I really like, because you know, no Chris. But I thought I'd experiment. Glad you liked the twist too *g*
Thanks for commenting!

Date: 2004-02-03 01:00 pm (UTC)Like I was saying to Nic, lambs isn't a pairing that I tend to read because of the no Chris thing (I'm shallow that way *g* ) but ficlets let me experiment.
I'm glad you like it, thanks for commenting!

Not that I really thought you might not, but Yay anyway!

Re:

Thanks for the comment, I don't know why I chose that request, but I'm glad I did as it worked well. I really wanted to do yours but I had no experience to draw from which would have meant research.
I've always wanted to see a story dealing with that subject and I just squeed when I saw Jo's ficlet.
The community is fantastic, the only problem is I have to remember to look through all the comments to see if anything's been posted.
