Weird sort of day. It was Mothers day today, Corey slept at my mam's so he hadn't written my card, and there was no chance of breakfast in bed. I have to get up to put James's artificial leg on so there's no point in going back to bed. I also told him I didn't want any flowers. Don't get me wrong, I love flowers but I hate the fact the price doubles for mothers day. I told him I'd be much happier to get some tomorrow when the price drops.
So no card or gifts, but I can't complain as the present that I want ( the new Mutant X DVD ) is out tomorrow. Anyway, we did the relative thing, delivering cards and presents to our mam's. Then when we came home James got Corey to write my card at last. It's the first year that he's chosen on his own, not sure if I should be insulted at the one he picked, a woman nagging with a huge nose *g* But he gave me the card he made at school as well and that's beautiful.
We were talking about arthritis today. It worries me when we talk about it as my mam has Lupus SLE. She's always been told that it's not hereditary, but I get the same sun rash as her. I have to wear factor 40 in the summer or my arms are a mess. None of my joints hurt though so I think it's just a coincidence. God knows, I never want to go through the pain that she does.
Now, I have to go and do some coding. I've been putting it off long enough.

Date: 2003-03-30 11:41 am (UTC)I too, have Lupus SLE, and they've told me over and over they 'don't think' it's hereditary. You may have it, but those may be your only symptoms. Weird, huh? I hope you don't have it though, it SUCKS.
Happy Mum's Day!

Yeah that's what they tell her. But both my sister and brother have arthritis symptoms, just minor but they're there. I hope that I could get away with just having the sun sensitivity, thought that's inconvenient in the summer. I've seen how bad Lupus can get, my mam's on a cocktail of drugs, and when she gets relapses it's terrible. Though it's no excuse, it's probably one of the reasons that she has an alcohol problem, she drinks to keep the pain away. Then of course the combination of drugs and alcohol is a bad one.
I hope you have your lupus well managed, and you're mainly pain free. I've seen how much it can affect quality of life and would hate to think of you in pain.
Look after yourself okay.
