Mar. 2nd, 2004 12:44 pmThis is a post to anyone that's been trying to get in touch with me.
From a post I got from
lazydwarf I found that BT is putting various mails I'm getting into spam folders. I checked two days ago and found a load of LJ comments in there as well as some mails going back about 2 weeks. It seems they get wiped after that time.
I would have said this yesterday but honestly it slipped my mind. It only seems to be certain people that's in there now. I've no idea why that is, why some people are seen as spam and others not.
I honestly don't know what to do. We haven't got the money to change ISP's for a couple of weeks. I miss my friends and I've let this situation go on far too long I know. I've emptied out the spam folders again now and just checked my flist and see I've upset someone, and god, I didn't mean to do that.
So, two things really. Does anyone know a good web based e-mail programme? I tried hotmail but for some reason it kept crashing IE. Also, if anyone mailed me or commented about something you thought I'd be jumping for joy about comment here. I'll make sure to keep checking and not rely on e-mail notification.
It's the worst feeling in the world when you make someone feel bad :(
ETA: I mean all important stuff, it doesn't have to be news that would nake me jump for joy.

Date: 2004-03-02 05:19 am (UTC)It's possibly BT has been filtering them 'cause they didn't like something in the content, or the username or subject, they're funny like that. I had a problem with my Outlook Express last year and had to uninstall it (it had a virus) and now I use yahoo!mail and have done for what must be at least a year, I swear by it lol So yes, I reccommend that. **nods**
And hey, I still love you :o)
**smooches**

Date: 2004-03-02 10:02 am (UTC)It's just such a pain, I'm sick of mails going missing and not knowing. How some of my friends have stayed I'll never know.
Sigh, thanks for the smooches and rec, I needed them.

Date: 2004-03-03 04:36 am (UTC)The thing is I like OE but it doesn't like BT. The amount of mails that bounce or get lost is horrific.
But yes, I think Yahoo is the way to go.

Just tic the checkbox by the message & click on "report junk:. I'm not sure how much good it does, but the spam goes to a "Junk" folder, so you can check to see what's in there & un-report it if you want. Which I've had to do a few times when it thinks LJ comments are spam 'cuz they always have the same subject lines, but hey, it IS free...
