This is a post to anyone that's been trying to get in touch with me.

From a post I got from [livejournal.com profile] lazydwarf I found that BT is putting various mails I'm getting into spam folders. I checked two days ago and found a load of LJ comments in there as well as some mails going back about 2 weeks. It seems they get wiped after that time.

I would have said this yesterday but honestly it slipped my mind. It only seems to be certain people that's in there now. I've no idea why that is, why some people are seen as spam and others not.

I honestly don't know what to do. We haven't got the money to change ISP's for a couple of weeks. I miss my friends and I've let this situation go on far too long I know. I've emptied out the spam folders again now and just checked my flist and see I've upset someone, and god, I didn't mean to do that.

So, two things really. Does anyone know a good web based e-mail programme? I tried hotmail but for some reason it kept crashing IE. Also, if anyone mailed me or commented about something you thought I'd be jumping for joy about comment here. I'll make sure to keep checking and not rely on e-mail notification.

It's the worst feeling in the world when you make someone feel bad :(

ETA: I mean all important stuff, it doesn't have to be news that would nake me jump for joy.

Hey you **snuggles**
It's possibly BT has been filtering them 'cause they didn't like something in the content, or the username or subject, they're funny like that. I had a problem with my Outlook Express last year and had to uninstall it (it had a virus) and now I use yahoo!mail and have done for what must be at least a year, I swear by it lol So yes, I reccommend that. **nods**
And hey, I still love you :o)
**smooches**

That's the third rec I have for Yahoo, I may have to make an account there.

It's just such a pain, I'm sick of mails going missing and not knowing. How some of my friends have stayed I'll never know.

Sigh, thanks for the smooches and rec, I needed them.

I've luckily **touch wood** never had any problems with my email, besides outlook express getting a virus lol and my yahoo mailbox going over the limit thanks to one of my mailing lists lol

But yes, yahoo=good lol

This is getting so old *sigh* It's a wonder you kept your sanity, really *g*

Okay, so tell me you did receive the three mails I sent in the last few days? Two on the 27th (one of which a nano mail) and one yesterday. I'm getting paranoid as well, wondering whether my mails get through to you, so never mind me *g*

I'll try to write you from my other address tonight, to see if that gets through better. At least that way you'll know if I've emailed you.

I've used both hotmail and yahoo mail and not had a problem with either.

Thanks :)

I'm going to try Yahoo mail, Hotmail seemed to really dislike my computer :(

I've used Yahoo as my nice anonymous web based mailer for years now and I've never had a problem with them. Filters are easily set up and I haven't had a problem with the newish auto bulk mail deleter either. I'd give it snazzy thumbs up.

I never had any problems with hotmail either, at least with LJ comments--a few of my friends wrote me goofy emails with "NIPPLES!!!!!!" and "Hey wana fuk???" in the subject lines and those got filtered to trash, but I'd hope they would. Heh.

Hotmail hated my computer, it wouldn't load right and in the end I gave up. Which is typical as it seems to be a great web based e-mail if the damn thing actually worked.

I don't like it as much as I liked AOL when I had it, but it's free! :)

UGH, I hate BT and Hotmail. Suck suck suck. I use my earthlink start page and outlook express mostly. But I do have a yahoo account for stuff I don't want sent to my main account. Like LJ goes to earthlink and my yahoo mailing lists go to yahoo. Keeps the spam off of my main account. I have had them for several years now and the spam (bulk) folder picks up most of the real spam. Also keeps it for 30 days and when you log in to your mail it tells you if you have any messages in there. That way you don't miss anything.

I'm thinking about getting a Yahoo mail box, people seem to like it.

The thing is I like OE but it doesn't like BT. The amount of mails that bounce or get lost is horrific.

But yes, I think Yahoo is the way to go.

Thank you :)

Hmm.

Juno is free, I've never had any real problems with it other than the spam filter is on crack. It lets lots through, but you can report them manually. Just tic the checkbox by the message & click on "report junk:. I'm not sure how much good it does, but the spam goes to a "Junk" folder, so you can check to see what's in there & un-report it if you want. Which I've had to do a few times when it thinks LJ comments are spam 'cuz they always have the same subject lines, but hey, it IS free...

Like I said in my email - Yahoo's not too bad. I like Hotmail better, but it actually *works* for me. *lol*

There are several things I'm sure you'll jump for joy to hear about from me, and I'll get 'em all into an email tonight or tomorrow for you. *smile*

BTW *points at new icon* GIP! Pretty, no?
