Mar. 22nd, 2004 06:41 pmThought I'd tell you all about the weekend while I can still remember, plus you know, it's an excuse not to do the washing.
Friday didn't start that well. James' foot cracked ( for anyone who doesn't know, he has a false leg ) which meant we had to find his spare one and change the straps etc, which took a while. That's why he's on the couch now, the new leg has irritated the back of his stump. ) We eventually got us all in the car and set off. I was thrilled to get a load of texts from
castalie on the way, TS smut on my mobile. I love it! The journey was bad. There were gales and a weather warning not to travel unless it was essential and I could see why. The wind was horrific, we passed a tanker that had blown on it's side, still with the driver trapped inside :( Then other tankers had blown over earlier so we had to take a detour that added hours on the journey. We also hit a mud flap at high speed going down the motorway. I swear I'd never been so scared. We were going fast and this huge flap suddenly appeared in front of us and wedged under the car. Luckily we were next to a service station so James could swerve into it. I really thought the undercarriage of the car had been ripped off. As it was James went and asked this trucker for help and he got the car on the kerb and managed to pull this thing out.
We carried on, with about 276938867 texts from Lia ( Kay's girlfriend) and we met her for the first time inside the camp. I was at Butlins btw, I don't know if I actually told you where I went. We got our chalets ( at lobster court, which I may have squeed at but I say nothing *g* ) and settled in. One thing to note. The bed in our chalet moaned and squeaked even when Corey was on it, as a result I hardly dared move for fear it would collapse. The bottom did fall in on the third day, thankfully not when we were in it, and they fixed it, so last night it didn't even squeak.
The weekend was a 70's music themed break, which was okay but it's not really my kind of music. If I'd heard YMCA one more time I'd have killed someone. But it was entertaining enough and I still enjoyed actually being out. There was the usual assortment of strange people, the woman who had a doll and thought it was a real baby for one. She pushed it round in a pushchair all weekend and nursed it. She even told this young boy off for waking the baby. I felt sorry for one Redcoat who was shown the 'baby' by this woman's real daughter, so to tease her threw the doll in the air. The woman came running down, snatched the doll and didn't stop shouting at the Redcoat for ages.
With it being off season a lot of things weren't open but it was still good. We visited the Seal rescue place like we do everytime we go. It was freezing, the winds were still horrific but it was fun. We tried to walk on the beach but having sand blasting your face is no fun, what was fun was getting in the car, my shoe falling off and blowing away. Poor Corey had to chase it *g*
After that we went to Fantasy Island, a fairground/market. Corey went on a few rides and I was accosted by a drunk man. I was just sitting on these fake rocks as Corey was on the dodgems and this man came over. He was all I've a friend like you, bloody gorgeous she is, just like you are. Then he kissed me on the cheek and walked away. I was stunned, really I was. Why I attract all the drunks I don't know.
We stayed on camp yesterday, I had my photo taken with hulk *g* and Corey was in the fancy dress competition. http://volcano.photobucket.com/albums/v11/turps33/ebay1_100.jpg There was a camera crew on site all weekend for a new TV show called Great British holidays, they filmed the competition and loads of other stuff. James was interviewed late at night leaving the kebab shop, lol. They also filmed in the dining hall all the time, so all you Brits, if it comes on, look for us *g*
We didn't see Kay and Lia that much, like I said they stayed in their chalet mostly, coming out to eat and once at night, so we had fun teasing them all weekend. Which lead to us scandalising a table of people in the dining hall. Must remember because we joke about them having hot sex everyone else who could hear may not approve. I honestly didn't give it a thought until I heard the tuts. But they shouldn't have been listening, *shrugs*
I think that's all. We didn't actually do that much, just kicked back, no phone calls etc. It was a perfect way to spend my anniversary and mother's day. Just me and my men. And now we're home, and this has been the most boring report ever, but I enjoyed myself.
Back to normal in the morning, I'm shattered now, I'm trying to skim the flist, and ouch, what the hell happened when I was gone?
english_muffin on hiatus,
silver_dreams gone. WTF!? Can anyone fill me in? Still on skip 475 but I'll get there...eventually *g*

Date: 2004-03-22 12:54 pm (UTC)People really shouldn't listen to private conversations, and it's not like we were loud or anything, but man, Kay and Lia only left their room to eat. How could I not tease them? It's my job as a sister ;) But yes their faces on the next table over were a picture.
So how are you? I'm still reading the flist, I keep getting distracted by new fic, so I haven't seen what you've been up to yet. I did see your bereft post, but at least I'm back now *snuggles you tight*

Date: 2004-03-22 12:20 pm (UTC)I was thinking about you over the weekend, as the wind was wailing round the house. I'm really glad the weather didn't spoil the holiday for you, 'cause you so deserved s nice, relaxing time.

Date: 2004-03-22 12:36 pm (UTC)I could have done without the wind for sure, but it didn't spoil anything. We just relaxed, ate, watched bad 70s music bands and had a laugh, and that's exactly what I needed.
Now I've got to read through the 10 pages of story links I have up, two of them for you, porn and the AU, you've been productive I see.
