Oct. 16th, 2003 01:03 pmI feel totally blah today, and yes that's a technical term *g*
Didn't sleep that well last night, which means all I want to do now is collapse on the couch and have a nap. Of course I can't because I have to go to school in a couple of hours. So I'm compensating by drinking coffee like crazy and eating cough sweets. I want to go to sleep :(
We did go to dinner last night, after going to parents evening and having an unexpected visit from the in-laws. They'd been out for the day and on the way home decided to drop in. When they were here they told us we're going out soon for the day. Sister-in-laws partner's mom is coming up to visit so we're doing the happy clan thing and going out together. Which is okay I suppose, but what pissed me off was we were told we were going, not asked if we wanted to go. M-I-L just said that she and F-I-L would be in our car and the rest in W's car. I had to bite my lip not to say, well what if we had plans, or didn't want to go?
They left and we went to school. Usual stuff, Corey's needs to be more confident etc. What I was glad about now he's in key stage 2 they have bigger chairs. They're still not adult size but at least you can get your ass on them *g* I like Corey's school a lot. He had to stay in the hall while we were talking and when we went to get him the head mistress was playing on the floor with all the kids. It's all open plan and a lot of my old teachers from when I went to that school are still there. I laugh when I go as most of the mams get called Mrs... but I get called Terri, I swear the receptionist still looks the same as she did 20 years ago. She hasn't changed from the woman that told me off for getting my socks wet on a school trip.
After that we did go to dinner, to Quincy's a local New Orleans themed restaurant. I like it there, it's an adult place but they're good to the kids. The table cloth is paper and they leave crayons on the table, so I amused myself by drawing gatorface etc. Over the years they've had some cracked out pics from us, lol. The meal was nice, only spoiled by the moaning of the woman at the next table about how cold it was.
James needed Silver when we got home, so I watched this horrific programme about rats...shudder.
Now I'm going to finish my story for
sentinel_thurs 2 stories in 2 weeks. It's unbelievable!
Oh and another GIP.
ETA: Just found a postcard saying the postman tried to deliver a package but no one was in. I've been in all morning :(
