turps: (baby trickc)
First. The leak is fixed! Which may not be as exciting to you all as to me but as it means I can actually use my kitchen again so I'm all happy just now No more emptying buckets and squeezing past washing machines to get to the fridge. It took my poor brother and his friend until 10pm last night to fix it and they had to keep going outside to turn the water off as the stop cock is wrecked. As a result it was freezing in the house so I huddled under a blanket watching tv because it's impossible to use the computer with a houseful of people. I get all paranoid about who's looking over my shoulder.

Corey had gone upstairs to watch tv. He's a set in his room but prefers to go in our bed to watch, which is fine but mam came down and wanted to see him. To sort of set the scene I never close the window near my bed and the other window was open too, simply because I couldn't reach it to shut it so our room was really cold last night, which is how I like it to sleep. She didn't like that and shouted for Chris to come shut the windows ( the one near our bed is bust and needs a huge yank to shut it ) so he went up and I cringed. Remember how I said I had to tidy up because the plumber was coming? Well I did, and put most of the stuff in my room, which looked like an explosion in a clothes factory, and now it was full of people. It's just a shame the mess didn't distract her from the understanding speech I was subjected to.

But yes, it's fixed and that's the important thing.

I'm also in the major bad books after forgetting my dad's birthday. Nanna came up and reminded me and in the process made me feel about five again. By the time she was finished I was ready to give her anything if she's just stop reminding me how I'd never forgotten before and how he'd been expecting a card. So we went over two nights ago to see him and his girlfriend and spent the time making nice. I hardly see the guy now, he's too busy with his new family so it was nice, even if the visit was based on guilt.

To get all the rl news out of the way I was surprised when James brought me a necklace home this week. It had belonged to his nanna's mam originally and his grandad had left a letter saying I should have it. Which yes made me feel small considering I didn't like the guy.

And that's it. I'd better go get dressed then I have a free day, a long free day too as Corey is at the maths club after school. I see e-mails and coding in my future, much better than leaks and doctors visits :)
