Dec. 6th, 2004 11:42 amThey say that pride goes before a fall and that's so true. I was so proud of finishing the SeSa despite it not ending how I'd planned but still it was nearly 7000 words of finished story. That story has now been sidelined after advice from someone who knows more than me about the pairing I wrote and another has been started which hopefully will work better. 7000 words gone, it's to weep I tell you. However, I still stand by the fact that finding someone who's willing to state 'you can write better than this and that doesn't work so change it' is a wonderful thing. A wonderful thing that makes you want to stamp and scream but a wonderful thing never the less. ( is that one word? Three? ) Of course this only works in terms of people that go and tell you how to fix things, mean crit is just that, mean.
Other than that yesterday was busy with very minimal online time as it was Corey's chill out day with the cubs. He has his first badge and I'm insanely proud of him for getting it. Now of course we need to buy the uniform to stitch it on. I did however see the newest fandom kerfuffle, no comment on the actual incident from me but what amused me was the speed the picture was spread. I read one post saying it was locked in a community, went to make Corey's bath and when I came back the picture was linked all over. I fully believe that fandom could spread any news to any point in the world within seconds.
James was also overtaken by E-Bay fever this weekend. We've been selling stuff to raise money but also buying some last gifts and he went a little insane bidding on a Britney DVD for Kayleigh. It was down to two minutes and he sat over the computer refreshing like mad in case he was outbid. Then he bid again for higher, shouting no one would get that DVD but him. I was in fits of laughter watching, mainly because I know how it is when you're down to the last minutes of that thing you want.
Gah, the Mil just phoned to warm my niece has gone down with measles and has Corey had it being as she was at the party on Sat. He hasn't and neither have I, I'm going to be obsessively checking for spots now.
Now I'd better go write or really what I should do is organise my hard drive. I keep getting warning messages saying my computer doesn't have enough memory to run efficiently. I guess that means burning some stuff to CD or zipping it up at least.
