turps: (Meant to be)
I have no chocolate cake left. Thankfully it I didn't eat the whole thing as my darling son decided it was his job to help eat it *g*

He's at cubs right now and will be coming home any minute now, starving to death and demanding food, at which point I'll try to prise some info out of him about what he's been doing, with the inevitable answer of I can't remember. He can remember nothing about school and nothing about cubs, or else he'll have done nothing at either, which would be a worry except questioning at length usually reminds him. I tell you, finding info from him is like getting blood from a stone.

So yes, it was a good weekend, some of which I spent offline because I found out it's easier to write if you're not, you know, checking LJ every five minutes. Which led to the Honey story to being well on it's way and even further on once [livejournal.com profile] interlockcast her eye over it this afternoon. I'm just hoping this pattern of starting a lame story which has to be scrapped followed by the real story won't happen for every challenge, because man, that would suck.

Though I'm lucky that I have what I wrote today after my darling sister used my computer and crashed it. Two things saved her ass, one that I've got Word on autosave and two that I'd just posted the story private in my LJ because I find it easier to edit to see any mistakes when I do that.

Moving on, I was just reading a post about House and followed a link to a site which showed that House is a person and not a place which I'm slightly disappointed about. I haven't seen the show and have no idea what it's about but I've seen the pairings House/whoever and thought they were along the lines of the great Trekperson/shuttlecraft stories that I've read. Which were works of genius I might add. Look at Tom, he was in love with the Delta Flyer so stories about Tom/shuttlecraft love made so much sense. Except for the episode Alice of course. That ship was just insane and really we don't need to remember how Tom was infatuated with her. Though personally I think he went a bit mad out of guilt, I mean, hello he was cheating on the Delta Flyer with some ship he picked up at a space dump. He should feel guilty. So yeah, Tom/shuttlecraft is a pairing of goodness. Though how he'd consummate the relationship I don't know. Then again, the flyer did have knobs and leavers instead of touch button controls and okay, I think we'll leave it there ;)

And now it's later and Corey's back. He's been learning CPR and shooting which seems rather ironic. He's also got a letter about going camping for a weekend with the cub pack, which is eeep. He's never been away without family before.

But now it's time for him to go to bed and I've an evening of e mails and fic reading ahead of me, which sounds like a fine plan.
