Dec. 5th, 2005 01:14 pmThere was more shopping yesterday, but this time with mam instead of the in laws. (if you get the feeling our car is seen as the family taxi, well, that's because it is) Metrocenter wasn't that busy, surprisingly, and we managed to get most of what we need, especially as we could walk more than a snail's pace and get into shops easily without the wheelchair and buggy. James bought me a lovely skirt for Christmas, it's purple and long, which is the most important thing. I'll only wear long skirts as my ankles are so disgusting and swollen, so finding something long like that was a bonus.
Today James and I made a quick dash to Sunderland before he went to work, and I managed to get something for the sparkly fandom card exchange and the last thing I wanted for the secret santa gift exchange so both of those can be mailed tomorrow. While there we bumped into someone who had a baby in the NICU when Corey was there. Her son was only a few pounds in weight when he was born, so tiny, just a little scrap of a baby clinging to life. He's fine now, a thriving boy like Corey is. Yet when I talk to her it's impossible not to remember the weeks we spent in that unit, and also remember the babies that didn't make it.
