Mar. 28th, 2006 03:11 pmJames and I went to see The Great White last night, and what a pointless film. The end was especially flat, a case of is that it? as the credits rolled. We were going to see V for Vendetta but arrived too late, so Great White it was. When we went to the screen the room was empty, all those rows of chairs and not one person. Then just before the film started this guy came in. He was wearing an anorak, clutching a plastic bag, and went to sit right at the back in the far corner. His bag would rustle on occasions, with a flurry of rustles when a promo featuring naked breasts was shown. I'm like, I don't want to know.
Corey was supposed to stay at mam's, but that didn't happen so he stayed at Kay's last night. I phoned this morning to tell her I'd pick him up after my docs appointment and he didn't want to come home. He was helping get the club ready for opening at the time then was planning on staying in the flat until later. I suspect a lot of the appeal is Kay feeds him junk food as she doesn't cook. Pizza last night, then this morning it was coco pops and pork scratchings. Now the cereal is fine, the pork scratchings not so much. But he's fine there, enjoying his unexpected day off.
Which leaves me time to be here, link surf and end up reading many insane stories which are linked to in this post here. I found it on friendsfriends, asking people to anon share their guilty pleasures stories. Those stories that are badly written, OOC, implausible, just plain insane yet you still read and enjoy. Like Torn Pages, or the X Files series, Life From the Ashes. Someone really needs to post Sucker there. Not me though, as at this point it isn't a guilty pleasure, it's more pure pig headedness that I've been reading the story for over a year now and no way am I giving up even though I hate almost everything about it now.
Okay, moving away from Sucker before I start ranting about how loathsome Eric Michael is and how I like Jacob now which is insane and omg how I want to slap 90% of them hard in the face. As I was saying, I love wallowing in the angst and guilty pleasure stories tend to hit many of my buttons. I can tell the difference between a wonderfully written in character story and something that's the total opposite. But I'll read both kinds and enjoy them in different ways.
So, yes. There should be a guilty pleasures list for popslash becauseI'd read through the list for sure that would be interesting. If you have guilty pleasures, from any fandom, you should go add them to that post.
