James and I went to see The Great White last night, and what a pointless film. The end was especially flat, a case of is that it? as the credits rolled. We were going to see V for Vendetta but arrived too late, so Great White it was. When we went to the screen the room was empty, all those rows of chairs and not one person. Then just before the film started this guy came in. He was wearing an anorak, clutching a plastic bag, and went to sit right at the back in the far corner. His bag would rustle on occasions, with a flurry of rustles when a promo featuring naked breasts was shown. I'm like, I don't want to know.

Corey was supposed to stay at mam's, but that didn't happen so he stayed at Kay's last night. I phoned this morning to tell her I'd pick him up after my docs appointment and he didn't want to come home. He was helping get the club ready for opening at the time then was planning on staying in the flat until later. I suspect a lot of the appeal is Kay feeds him junk food as she doesn't cook. Pizza last night, then this morning it was coco pops and pork scratchings. Now the cereal is fine, the pork scratchings not so much. But he's fine there, enjoying his unexpected day off.

Which leaves me time to be here, link surf and end up reading many insane stories which are linked to in this post here. I found it on friendsfriends, asking people to anon share their guilty pleasures stories. Those stories that are badly written, OOC, implausible, just plain insane yet you still read and enjoy. Like Torn Pages, or the X Files series, Life From the Ashes. Someone really needs to post Sucker there. Not me though, as at this point it isn't a guilty pleasure, it's more pure pig headedness that I've been reading the story for over a year now and no way am I giving up even though I hate almost everything about it now.

Okay, moving away from Sucker before I start ranting about how loathsome Eric Michael is and how I like Jacob now which is insane and omg how I want to slap 90% of them hard in the face. As I was saying, I love wallowing in the angst and guilty pleasure stories tend to hit many of my buttons. I can tell the difference between a wonderfully written in character story and something that's the total opposite. But I'll read both kinds and enjoy them in different ways.

So, yes. There should be a guilty pleasures list for popslash because I'd read through the list for sure that would be interesting. If you have guilty pleasures, from any fandom, you should go add them to that post.

I totally admire you stick-to-it-iveness re Sucker. I tried, man, I tried so hard, and I finally gave up about a month ago. It was making me feel dirty and abused, and I was rooting for people I hate, and hating people I love, and just. No. No, no, no. *shakes fist at story of DOOM*

But aside from that, I lovelovelove badfic. Or not even badfic, just... indulgentfic. I like certain things, and I don't care how out of character a story may get, if it's got those things, I'm going to read it and love it and treasure it. I just probably won't brag about it. :D

Believe me, I've tried to stop reading Sucker. I'm like you, hating people I usually love and cheering on people I normally don't give a damn about. It's annoying because I skim read each part and am frustrated and annoyed at the end. But still, when the e mail comes saying there's a new part, off I go.

I could quote all of your second paragraph, because, me too. People know I love badfic and I don't mind a bit. But indulgentfic is different. If something hits one of my kinks I'll adore that story. It could be totally OOC, I'll still save and re read often.

I'm lucky I have someone who I can talk about indulgentfic, because some of the things I like, well. I'm not about to spell them out in public *g*

The guy in the anorak freaked me out.

As do pork scratchings. They're just nasty!

I'm right there with you via sucker. I wish I knew how to quit! It's so bad, so very very bad, that I really have half convinced myself that it's a huge joke on fandom. it's so bad. and yet I still read ;)

In a way I hope it is a joke, because otherwise I have to think that she takes the story seriously, which, just no. It's the most cracked out, badly characterised, annoying, implausible, cringe making thing ever.

So why do I keep reading? Really, the joke's on the reader however you look at it.

Why on earth is somebody mentioning Torn Pages but not Living there? Torn Pages is actually very good and logical and sane compared to Living. ;) I have no personal experiences of Sucker, but from what I've heard you could say the same about it.

I have to agree, compared to some at that site Torn Pages is nothing. I read Living after it was done, something I wish I'd done with Sucker, because man. That story is doing my head in!

Seriously, that thread is awesome. I tabbed several stories that were mentioned cause their summaries really did for me. I think I'll read them tonight *g*

And I knew you had to check the post out, it was so meant for you lol Glad you enjoyed it *nods*

Dude! You should totally doe a guilty pleasure list for popslash... it would be heaven for you. And you'd so have TONS of stories to share ;-)

I've a load of stories tabbed too! And have been having fun going through them. It makes me laugh that what others see as guilty pleasures I see as awesome stories that I love.

LOL. If there was a guilty pleasures list for popslash I could easily share multiple stories. But thing is, people could get the wrong idea ;)
