Oct. 17th, 2012 03:29 pmI about lost a year off my life earlier when I heard the front door rattle. There's only me in the house, but I figured it was someone coming in because none of my family knock. But no one did, so I went to check and the door was barely open, just bumping in the wind. After the initial 'oh god, there's someone in the house!' reaction, I realised it mustn't have shut properly when I closed it earlier. Thankfully, all cats were found, but they so easily could have got out.
I got my stuffsit assignment this morning, and am very happy with it. I've got an idea I've ran past various people and think I'll be good to go soon. I just need to ponder on some last details.
I really do like being on twitter when challenges like this happen. Seeing people react to opening their emails and the careful comments in case the person you've been assigned is someone you're talking to. Not that you'll know as it's a double blind exchange.
This afternoon I read Oh Baby Let Me In by alpheratz. It's the second story in her numb!Mikey series, is Mikey/Pete/Gerard, and all kinds of amazing and hot. I highly recommend it.
James is doing a ride along on the ambulance again today. Though he got a bit eager and went in an hour early. He really does enjoy these days observing. It's just a shame his disability means he could never actually do the job.
Now I'm off to read a few more tabs before the kidlet comes in.
