Feb. 23rd, 2014 11:45 amIt was my birthday last Tuesday and I had a nice day. Quiet because James was at work, so all the visitors came to me for once, and then we had Chinese take away on the night.
James sent me flowers and Corey got me a Lush set and Kay&Kay an amazing owl print bag, all of which you can see behind ( here )
James also got me a new phone which is a thousand times better than my old one. Not that I can show you that I was using it to take the photos.
That day no_tags claims went up and I grabbed a workable prompt, and in fact, that story is now off to beta. Which is throwing off my usual routine as picfor1000 is usually my first fic of the year, but sadly this time the shape shifting sheep have been overtaken.
Talking of picfor1000, this week I started to think of a previous story I'd written for the challenge and realised I'd never uploaded it to A03 or listed it in my fic masterlist. It's from 2010 so isn't new, but if you want to read a sort of fairytake'ish Mikey and Gerard centric thing with implied character death at the end, well, it's here
That also made me think about the fact most of my picfor1000 stories are kind of sad. I'm not even sure why, at least form changing Mikey bucks that trend from a few years back, and the shape shifting sheep this year of course. Then again, I'm still only half way through, they may get knocked over and made into chops yet.
Also, on my birthday Mikey finally announced his new band. All the promo has made me so happy, especially as he seems so happy and excited himself. I loved the AP poster of him, and watching the EC AP video I was reminded why I like him so much, all the feels hitting all over again.
It was so great to go on tumblr and actually see mainly positive posts about him, though I did roll my eyes at someone being snotty about him getting on the front cover of AP and asking why. Mainly because it hits one of my pet peeves about Mikey where some people seem to think he's not passionate about music. First pet peeve is he never smiles at all and each time I see someone seriously say that I want to ask if they've been a fan for more than a minute.
I also love he's being so chatty on twitter, even if some of the questions people ask often leave me wonder what they were thinking. But yeah, new music from him soon which means more promo and interviews and all kinds of good stuff. I can't wait.
Other things, still working on sorting out the mess left of my emails, tweetdeck isn't loading for me which means I'm feeling disconnected from my twitter people and mam and Kayleigh still aren't talking. There's a chance Kayleigh may get a new job and move 3 hours away, and while it would be horribly sad if she does go, I hope that she does and gets the space that she needs.
