Aug. 10th, 2015 05:16 pmIt was a red letter day today when I woke to two comments on different stories. Comments you make my heart sing.
An update on my niece's journey to fandom. You may remember she was waiting for Dan and Phil to make a big announcement after vidcon.
The day this announcement was due to happen was a huge one for her. First there was a very heartfelt instagram post about how if Dan and Phil came out people had to treat them the same as normal as they still would be the same people, just that they'd now admitted they were together. All her friends agreed with this and were just in general being adorable.
The next post was a selfie of my niece sitting with her hand over her mouth, eyes wide and impatient as she counted down to the time of the announcement. I'm sure you all know what expression I mean, the squee face every fan is familiar with.
Then nothing for ages. Curious I went looking, checking to see if the silence meant they actually had come out and all the phan fans had squee'ed themselves to death. But no, the big announcement was they'd released an app, one for the ios system only and worse than that, paid.
So no big coming out this time, but she rallied and is now posting pictures of herself with whiskers on her face.
Seriously, watching this new generation of fans come into our world is a whole lot of fun.
Changing the subject, because I'm an old generation of fans that do such things, I did that household meme that goes on forever, and it's behind ( here )
And there you go, more than you ever wanted to know about my house.
A couple of hours after I wrote this, dad has just gone after an unexpected visit. Which means after an hour plus of wandering the garden I could change what my house smells of to plants because I've been pruning tomato plants. Also strawberries as he brought us a punnet to share, leaving the leftovers along with two bananas. Best dad ♥
