We've been to Asda today for groceries and James used one of the motorised cart/trolley things to get around. It worked nicely, it mean he could rest his foot and I got to walk the supermarket at much more rapid pace than normal.

Corey phoned earlier and he's been awarded an additional grant. So maybe he'll get to the end of this term with some money left in his bank account. We're meeting him for dinner next Wednesday for his birthday. It'll be lovely to see him, I know it's only weeks but it feels like I haven't seen him in forever.

Nanna had a cataract op yesterday and it went well. We went to see her today and she was saying how she was scared actually going for the op, and that was sad-making because I hate thinking of nanna being scared of anything. I'm just glad she got it because in the run up the eye doctor asked why she wanted her cataracts removed considering how old she is. And I mean, to me that's why she should have them done. She's 96 next week, still gets around on her own and reads loads, of course she's going to want her eyes to be the best they can be.

She also showed us a load of old photos she'd found, and they were fantastic. Pictures of nanna when she was 16 and working in the factories and then on the buses. Ones of granddad when he was abroad and fighting in the war, and ones of my dad and my uncle when they were babies and young kids. I really enjoyed looking at them and hearing nanna explain each one.

Also, there was sunshine which was such a lovely welcome change.
