Oct. 4th, 2020 06:45 pmIt should have been Houghton Feast this week, the sound of the fairground in the field next to the park, the scent of candy floss, toffee apples and chips, fireworks tomorrow, the parade yesterday, bagpipes at the opening ceremony on Friday, but obviously none of that can happen. The organisers have done a great job of doing stuff online, and they deserve so much praise for that. But, the first time in my lifetime the Feast has been cancelled :(
With the constant wet weather I haven't stepped foot out of the house this weekend, yesterday was Downton and surveys, today I caught up on some fic reading, mostly of the Winterhawk kind. A lot of Musketeer writers are taking part in whumptober, which is excellent and I'm really enjoying the offerings, except, due to them being daily prompts the stories are short and I always want more.
To counter that I've just started a soulmate winterhawk by one of my favourite writers which is 45k, realising how long it is I stopped at the end of part one and set it to 'read later' and will finish it in the bath on my Fire. No doubt I'll emerge looking like a prune but it'll be worth it.
If you have
dine on your flist you'll know she posts links to fabulous content, often of animals. Today she linked to a post on we rate dogs and one of the dogs tickled me so much, I was laughing a long time when I hit Apollo and his long nose. Number four here.
And with that, I'm off to read about how Bucky and Clint get their soul marks this time.
