Feb. 10th, 2021 04:33 pmI was out for a walk earlier, and got caught in thundersnow! It's always weird when it happens and everything got a bit dramatic with claps of thunder and a sudden really heavy shower of snow. Until that point, it had been the nice fat flakes coming down and I'd been enjoying walking through new crunchy snow, but the thundersnow type was like needles, and I was resembling a snow person by the time I got home.

We had the man out last night for the government energy efficiency grant. Because James gets PIP and we're homeowners we can get a grant to make our house more energy efficient. I was hoping we could get new widows as some of ours are really draughty. Sadly because they're double glazed, even if very bad double glazing, that wasn't an option. So, instead for our first stage, we're getting underfloor insulation and a thermal heater for the water and the radiators updated, then the second stage a brand new boiler.
The man who came out was good, masked at all times, as were we, and worked out what would be the best improvements for us. So now it's just a case of waiting to see start dates, hopefully when James is off due to the amount of potential cat wrangling. Because yeah, if any cat will get under the floor it'll be Murphy.
From a flist rec I've started to watch Soulmates on Amazon today. I've only seen the first ep so far but it kept my attention and was interesting to see the trope on screen.
