Catching up on these.
Thursday's child has far to go
Create: Produce something that relocates the characters from their usual hunting grounds to another real life, actual place. Farther the better, so think another country, ideally another continent. For your sci-fi, bring your characters to Earth-now. Alternatively, the relocation could be measured in time. Consider your historical or future AUs, your ancient civilisations, or your alien ones.
Squee: Tell us about a place or indeed time period you’d love to see some canon/fanon based in. This could be for an existing fandom or an idea for an entirely new show, movie, book... Alternatively, you can gush about your favourite place on Earth now, or geek out over the fascinating minutia of a particular historical period/place.
If I was organised or able to write quickly, I could have finished the Musketeers in Space story, at which point people could go, thank goodness for that, now she'll stop wittering on about it. However, I'm not organised or quick at writing, so it will remain as just a mention.
But that relates to the squee question.
I love space films, tv shows etc. In fact, when I was much younger my brother said I wouldn't watch anything set on the ground. I love Trek, especially Voyager, Firefly etc and that love of the genre applies to reading Space AUs in fic, and also writing them.
Along with the Musketeers Space AU , one of my favourite bandom stories is set in space and I've always had a vivid popslash mental image of Nsync riding silver space bulls in SPACE!
There's just something about the vastness of space that attracts my attention, and wondering how things will change in the future when that space is explored, or aliens make themselves known. It's fascinating to think about and the possibilities are endless, my imagination the only limit as I think of what could actually happen and the way people would lead their lives.
It's why I enjoy writing space AUs, and in fact, thinking about it I've written a few bandom space stories, but Sound Tracking remains one of my favourite of that type.
As I've written bandom in SPACE! And Musketeers in SPACE! I obviously now have to write winterhawk in SPACE!
I also blame the muppets for in SPACE thing.
Pigs in SPAAAAACE!
