James has to use up some of his annual leave, so has been off work every day but Monday this week. I'd like to say we've used this time to do nice things but so far it's been tip runs and charity shop runs from my MiL's house and on top of that James had to have a back tooth extracted on Tues.

However, after that push things are nearly done and hopefully the sale will go through next week. My MiL is still adamant that once she has the money she's going to pay for the family to go to Butlins next year for a fortnight. But, I really do think she's got no idea how expensive it is in the school holidays. I casually checked for the amount of people she wanted to pay for and it was nearly 4k as she wants a meal plan too. And that was for one week, she wants to go for two. I hope once she prices things up she'll lower her expectations to a weekend in the offseason or something.

We did go to the cinema to see Addams Family 2 yesterday afternoon. Well, I say we went to see, James saw all of five minutes as he fell asleep pretty much as soon as we sat down. Tomorrow he's got an appointment at the limb centre at 9 am then we've tickets to see the new Venom. Hopefully, he'll stay awake for that.

Tuesday was Kayleigh's birthday, so we spent an hour or so up hers on the afternoon, sadly with no Bodhi cuddles as she was sleeping all the time.

Then yesterday I got Kayleigh tickets to go see Beauty and the Beast at the theatre in Feb. She paid for them but because we're theatre members I could use the pre-sale to get her good seats. The reason she wants to go is she's a hugeSam Bailey fan, and I managed to get row B centre aisle seats. I hope Lucy keeps a tight hold of Kayleigh's arm or she'll be vaulting onto the stage *g*

We did get to Re.F.Use on Saturday, but later than usual so the only free table was the big one usually used for groups, and that led to an interesting situation. A couple came in and were looking for a table and we said to them as long as they were comfortable doing so they were welcome to share ours. Admittedly, they had a gorgeous curly black lab type dog so that was part of the reason we offered to share.

Anyway, they said yes and we got talking and the lady was the loveliest kind of eccentric. She was an older lady and the man was the best friend of her husband who'd died years ago and they just rubbed together so well. He was a past therapist and had such a calming voice while she never stopped talking, tried to buy us cake, exclaimed we were going to be great friends despite living about 90 mins apart, that we needed to call in and visit her next time we were in her area and then when James talked about his wood-burning and showed her the example he donated to the cafe, well, she was delighted.

Saying she wanted to commission a box and that he was marvellous and was undercharging and that she also did fundraising by publishing a cookbook with stories about her husband and her friend's parents and she was going to send us a copy free of charge and a photo of the dog for the box commission and just, she was lovely but also a lot.

She asked for our address so she could send the cookbook and a photo of the dog and when we left to go watch the parade she came running out of the cafe to wave to us for ages. And i half expected to never hear from them again, but the cookbook arrived this morning, and she does want a box still.

I'm wearing my knock off Oodie today and it remains the snuggliest thing. I noticed the official versions have come down in price, no doubt because there are so many different versions available now. I may get one for Christmas, this sloth seems to be calling my name.
