I'm seeing a lot of people on my flist doing [community profile] comment_bingo which I think is a fantastic idea for a challenge. Plus, as I do comment a lot on fic anyway this could be the challenge where I actually get a bingo. Imagine that. I'm still at the thinking about it stage but suspect I'll be signed up soon.

I was talking to my brother yesterday. He's just moved house and is about to give up his job and strike out himself as a kitchen fitter. It's what he's done for ages, been a worker and then manager at a high-end kitchen supply shop. He also does fitting jobs at weekends and promised he'd get us discounted units and redo our kitchen for us. It badly needs doing but as it's something he does in his own time I never pushed for when he'd do it, then yesterday he said it'll be mid-June before he leaves his work. Which, gives me a few weeks to go through the cupboards and get things sorted.

It turned out James doesn't have an infection in his leg but does have inflamed skin which could have led to infection so it's good he made the call to get an appointment. He's got ointment and a barrier spray to use once the skin has calmed down, which hopefully will stop this from happening again.

Today he had a limb centre appointment at 9 in Newcastle so I tagged along. I haven't actually been to his limb appointments since COVID arrived and wasn't intending to today, but I'd gone in to use the toilet and Howard, his limb tech said I was welcome to come in, so I did. It was nice to catch up with Howard and it was company for James as these appointments are a lot of putting on the new leg, then Howard going away to make tiny adjustments.

That done we had a late breakfast as we'd had to leave early. I just put in best breakfast places near me and Google brought up this little deli that had delicious food. I had a breakfast burrito with veggie sausages, beans and mushrooms and man, it was good, if far too big.

After that, it was a drive to the coast for a walk and to B&Q as I'd heard they'd been reducing their bedding plants. Which they hadn't but I still came out with a trailing tomato plant so all wasn't lost.

And we also called at the Stadium of Light as James has gone to Sunderland's play-off match with my BiL tonight and he was wanting to see if he could get disabled parking. It's the last home game of the season so they were selling tickets off cheap to fill the stadium and while he did have tickets I was worried about the parking situation as the nearby streets get filled fast and he's not up to a long walk. Thankfully, there were four bays left, plus he managed to get the seats changed as originally they were way up the top of the stands and I had visions of him tumbling down all the stairs.

He's there now and only 15 rows back which is good while I've just had a lobster bath and read some new Musketeer fic from one of my favourite writers from that fandom. I'm about to chill on the couch with the cats and binge watch some Station 19 and then tomorrow I'm off to see Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. So right now, all is well.
