Apr. 6th, 2023 04:17 pmI saw my oldest nephew for the first time in a few years yesterday. He now lives in a residential house for teens with autism and while he has multiple visits with my SiL during the week, they tend to meet up in town and go out to eat and have a coffee. Yesterday afternoon I was in Costa with James, and my nephew and SiL turned up too.
We all had a drink together and I was shown multiple photos and videos of buses and trains -- his obsession for a very long time -- and he told me what bus and what time I had to get it if I wanted to visit Corey. He also suggested that in a few months, when he turns 18, he can go work for Corey in the pub. I doubt that will happen but it's nice to know he still thinks of us as part of his life and appears very happy now.
I also saw Kayleigh and Bodhi in the morning. Bodhi has been discharged from Sunderland hospital and all her care is now with the specialist children's hospital in Newcastle. That's a very good thing, but does mean her appointment for her op at the end of the month has been cancelled as that was booked at Sunderland. So, hopefully, she gets a new appointment soon.
Today I got a load of mail to note down from the mail survey place, including a fiction book that actually looks interesting. Plus, posting packs to go out, except, they were in a clear plastic bag with a note from Royal Mail note saying sorry this packaging has been damaged in transit. The posting packs were obvious if you looked in the torn envelope so I hope no mail person actually did look or this new stint will be over and I'll be kicked from the scheme for being identified again.
I've also been to get a Too Good to Go Magic Bag from Tim Hortons. I've often been curious about what you'd get in them but the two Tim's in the area offer bags between 11:20 and 12 midnight, which is way too late for me to collect. But recently they've occasionally offered afternoon collections, and today I got one. And am now the proud owner of 50 Timbits. Which is a lot of Timbits.
