May. 30th, 2004 11:38 pmBT really have to be one of the most frustrating companies to communicate with. I cancelled Kayleigh's internet access today. We've been paying for it for the last few years as a sort of pocket money thing. Well now she's past the age of getting pocket money but also her computer's been broken for the last two months so we were paying money for nothing. So I phoned, waited in line for ages, eventually got through and the woman asked why I was cancelling and I told her the computer was broken, so she says, 'do you want me to pass you to our technical department'. Sure I do, I really want to spend £2 a minute to your tech line. They'll do anything to get money off you, the money grabbing over charging bastards. They're my ISP and phone company, I have issues.
Also this morning I came downstairs and saw that James had left me a note on a sticky pad on the computer screen. I would have been pissed at the assumption that that's the first place I'd go when I came downstairs, but really as it was the first place I went who am I to complain *g*
Some advice now. Don't read pet peeve lists when you're trying to write because then you end up convincing yourself that your stories are full of pet peeves, at least if you're me you do. But yes, I was writing this afternoon until James came home and needed the computer then Corey went on and in the mean time I'd started watching TV. My TV watching's sad at the moment because I was watching Hells Kitchen, and doesn't Matt Goss look good. I liked Bros and remember getting those Golsch tags to put on my shoes. LOL, I was a Brosette at an early age, I should have known I'd end up on the sparkly side with that evidence. But getting back to my point. Before that I had been writing and now I'm nearly at the end of a section and I'm just wondering if I should do something nice or stick to my plan which is life's a bitch and things always go wrong ;)
To balance the sad reality tv watching I'm having a great time watching
castalie exploding with QAF love. Mouse and I have always loved the UK version but I could never convince her about the US one, but now she's hooked and I'm thrilled to be discovering the fandom with her. See as much as I love QAF I kept out of anything fannish for it, mainly because I've enough fandoms anyway, but when you do it with a friend it makes it even more thrilling. Plus I'm lazy and I know Mouse will find the kind of stories that I love.

Date: 2004-05-30 03:45 pm (UTC)I had to laugh recently when
Now that you mention it, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised I ended up in popslash either.

Date: 2004-06-01 03:38 pm (UTC)I loved Bros so much, for a strange reason I tended to like Craig better than Luke or Matt but I really liked their music. I still do, in fact I may have to go search for my CD. I remember buying their first album on vinyl which shows how long ago that was *g*
I've always loved pop, starting from A-ha up to the Nsync, BSB etc. Of course when I was tying golsch tags on my shoes I didn't expect to be slashing pop singers when I grew up ;)
I have to comment on your icon too. It's fantastic!

Date: 2004-06-01 11:36 pm (UTC)I had the vinyl as well, but never got around to getting the cd. I'll have to do something about that... I tend to have one pop group at a time that I don't mind. It was Bros, then Take That, then I was an indie snob for ages and now it's Nsync. Though I still don't like some of their music (but we won't tell anyone about that).
That's one of my favourite icons. I have quite a few TT and Robbie ones. There needs to be more fic about them.

Date: 2004-06-02 08:03 am (UTC)I liked Take That too then became interested in nu metal and wouldn't look at pop for a long time. Then I was snared by the sparkle again *g* I don't like all their music either, I love the upbeat ones but some of the ballads are so bad.
There really should be more TT fic, I wonder why there's not? Because Robbie/Mark are surely a pretty couple.

Date: 2004-06-02 06:21 pm (UTC)Man, don't get me started on the ballads. I loathe ballads in general and some of Nsync's are just, yeah.
I have no idea why there isn't more Take That fic. I know

I'm going to go look at those names you gave. I've never read any TT fic but I bet it's good. Thanks :)

If you have trouble tracking down any of that fic, just let me know and I'll see if I can hunt it up.
