turpsLJ was driving me insane yesterday, and I'm feeling a little disconnected simply because it's so much effort to make a comment, post etc when you have to refresh, copy, paste your words over and over. That's not including the times I forgot and saw the things disappear into cyber space. Cue much cursing from me. Last night I was so pissed off I gave up and watched the séance on TV which passed an hour. James was really into it and seemed a little gutted when the presenter said he'd tricked people. Anyway, I couldn't give up so did some research and someone suggested it might be a firewall problem. I use two firewalls anyway, so I've disabled the Norton one and it seems to be working so far *crosses fingers*
Last night wasn't helped by a visit from mam. I know she hasn't got much money at the moment, but coming down here after she's been out all day, standing saying she's had nothing to eat for days then talking food from Corey's plate saying she's starving isn't on. Nor is saying things like 'wow, I see food' when I give her stuff from our freezer/fridge. I'll give her stuff no problem, I buy her food when we get ours, but really any sympathy I have is washed away as she's out most days. It just doesn't add up in my mind. Okay, ending the moaning now.
It's Corey's half term this week, and really the person who gave him a magic kit for Christmas needs their head examining.Do you know how frustrating it is trying to make lengths of cord magically change length? There's been many tantrums and throwing of fuzzy balls in the turps house, and not just by Corey ;)
I'm seriously thinking about joining the JC ficathon which is insane as I have far too much to write as it is. Talking of that. How long's a ficathon supposed to be anyway? I know it's 1000 words and over but a lot of stories seem to be pretty short. So I was wondering if there's a vague word count most people use.
While I'm asking questions. Does anyone know of an online store that sells rainbow stuff? Kay's going to pride and she has her heart set on wearing a rainbow belt there. She found one but it's overseas and has no shipping prices and when we e-mailed they didn't reply. Somewhere in the UK would probably be best but right now I'll take anywhere as long as the shipping is reasonable.
To end I'm going to leave you with something James brought home last night. Some of you know he's a team leader at the inland revenue. His team wrote the following for him yesterday, so when you're on the phone about tax credits know what the advisors are really doing ;)
James ***** is the boss of the team,
Whenever he stares he looks really mean.
We get really scared thinking what we have done,
But he's only messing. He thinks it's fun.
He sits at his desk and works all day long,
He even works sometimes when we have all gone
Or does he work, is it just an illusion?
Maybe all teams leaders are in collusion!
To sit on their bums and look like they're busy
But they eat chip butties and pop that is fizzy
Their laughing and joking ain't that brief
They should get on the phones and take some grief!
But enough of T/Ls lets get back to James
He lets us read mags and we sometimes play games
He drives a blue Astra that's specially equipted
and it's pedal to metal cos he gives it some gyp.
He comes to his desk and he sits next to Gaff
When his leg comes off I can't help but laugh
But it's not really funny it's a total disgrace
His shadow looks like it's from outer space
But he does his job well and better than most
And one thing about him, he never does boast!
You think they've learned to write the Nsync way? ;)
