Man where is everyone? Entertain me damn it! Don't you know it's bucketing down here!

I've decided my nanna is insane today. My brother went to see her earlier and she was moaning we hadn't been up since Easter! WTF!? I was there two weeks ago. What gets me is he goes up maybe one a year and is seen as wonderboy. We go at least once a month and it's not enough.

I've been looking at my TS AU today. It's funny, the first two parts run to about 20 pages each. At the time I thought that was so long, now it seems really short. Part 3 is half done and I'm going to finish it. Related to that, for my own reference.

I saw [livejournal.com profile] _betinna_ post a 100 things about her list yesterday. I talk about me a lot on here so I've done a 100 fannish things about me, sadly I could do a load more.

(1)My first fandom was Star Trek Voyager
(2)I was a Paris/Torres shipper
(3)Because I didn’t know what slash was
(4)Then I found links to Chakotay/Paris stories, and never looked back
(5)My first ever slash fic was a n/c with Tom Paris as the victim, which maybe explains a lot *g*
(6)I then moved onto reading Poltergeist the Legacy slash (Nick/Derek and Nick/Philip)
(7)I lurked on lots of Trek lists, and didn’t post once
(8)My first comment was on a Tom Paris mailing list
(9)I then found The A Team slash ( Face/Murdock)
(10)Which led to Battlestar Galactica slash ( Starbuck/Apollo)
(11)[livejournal.com profile] castalie answered a comment on the A team list, and we began a friendship that’s lasted years
(12)At that time I read in a lot of fandoms but didn’t really participate
(13)I’m really unconfident and posting makes me feel sick
(14)It still does, which is why I love LJ so much
(15) Because you can delete posts here
(16)I read a few stories in Due South but never got into the fandom
(17)Same with Highlander at that time
(18)One day Castalie mailed and said she’d found this wonderful archive
(19)It was 852 Prospect, The Sentinel’s archive
(20)At that point neither of us had seen the show
(21)I spent weeks reading through the whole archive
(22)I didn’t like Jim in fanfic, I was a Blairbabe all the way through
(23)I was so addicted to Sentinel I joined multiple lists, both gen and slash
(24)I jokingly sent Castalie a short paragraph with Jim coming in Blair’s hair
(25)It was the first thing I’d written since school
(26)She liked it and encouraged me to write more
(27)The first story I ever wrote was for Castalie’s birthday and was about a blood kink.
(28)The first draft sucked, Starwatcher and others fixed it
(29)My obsession with TS kept growing and I spent far too much money buying good quality episodes.
(30)I watched all four seasons within a few days
(31)And discovered that I loved Jim too, go figure *g*
(32)At that time I lived and breathed Sentinel
(33)I posted on lists, and a few times discovered that TS can be all about cliques
(34)As much as I love slash I felt more at home in the gen list
(35)Where I met some wonderful people
(36)If it wasn’t for that fandom I wouldn’t be writing at all
(37)But it’s that fandom that made me feel the worst I’ve ever felt about my writing when a group tore my story to bits
(38)The thing was I’d asked for it, and said I could take constructive crit
(39)I couldn’t. I was still too new and I nearly didn’t write another word
(40)I can take crit now, I have to because I need it and know that
(41)Around that time I found Mutant X
(42)I fell in love with Brennan
(43)I posted to lists and wrote
(44)Doing that hardened me as a writer
(45)It had to, when you post and get maybe 1 LoC at best you learn to write for yourself
(46)I set up a Mutant X slash archive
(47)And started to drop some lists, just keeping the Sentinel ones and one trek list
(48)I still went to Trek cons where I met some awesome people
(49)I met most of the Voyager stars
(50)Including Robert Duncan McNeil ( Tom Paris )
(51)The first day of the con was blazingly hot, and we had to queue outside for hours. (52)I was burned but because of my necklace had a white cross on my chest for months.
(53)I met Robert and could hardly walk over to him I was so nervous. It didn’t help I looked like a red fat tomato.
(54)He couldn’t understand my accent…sigh
(56) I wrote a lot in that time, both MX and TS
(57) Including the story that got me the most LoCs ever.
(58) The End is a post apocalypse AU and the day I posted it I got over 50 LoCs
(59) In the next part of the story I killed Simon and the story wasn’t well liked
(60) I skirted around popslash for a long time
(61) But at the time didn’t have a LJ so looked for BSB slash online and found some terrible stuff
(62) I was scared away
(63) But was still interested, because hmmmm Kevin and Nick
(64) I got a LJ and had 2 friends for months
(65) I agonised over rps and thought about getting another LJ for popslash as it was looked down on by the media slash people
(66) Then thought screw it and wrote a BSB fic
(67) I posted it at BSB slash comm and 3 people commented
(68) Including [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] who kindly beta read my first ‘real’ popslash story
(69) I had no idea who Nsync were then read a cross over and liked the sound of Chris
(70) I looked up some pics and fell in love/lust yet again
(71) I love Chris
(72) I’ve loved every moment in popslash fandom, apart from the hate thread
(73) I still like MX and TS
(74) Sometimes I want to tattoo that across my forehead or across the header of my LJ
(75) I don’t think I’m a good writer
(76) I’m okay but good? Nope.
(77) James knows I’m a slasher, as do my siblings
(78) My brother found out when he read a scene from a TS threesome on my Palm, a very graphic scene
(79) He’s never said anything directly about it, he just thinks I’m weird,
(80) As does my sister
(81) My best friend knows and is supportive. But she tried to read a fic once and couldn’t get past a kissing scene *g*
(82) Fandom is my happy place.
(83) I’ve never been that popular
(84) Which is why I’m surprised when people friend me on here
(85) My OTP is technically trickyfish
(86) But just below that is TrickC, Choey and Timbertrick, as well as Chris/Nick and Chris/Kevin
(87) What can I say? It’s a Chris thing *g*
(88) If I like something I’ll try and find slash for it
(89) Why oh why is there not more Sliders slash!?
(90) I’ve written Chris/Blair
(91) I often wonder what would happen if I posted it to 852 Prospect
(92) Then decided being run out of fandom probably wouldn’t be fun ;)
(93) I have a lot of kinks and hot buttons
(94) I don’t have any squicks as such but I have one thing that leaves me cold
(95) Which I won’t mention as last time I did I had a thread of comments relating to that *g*
(96) I’ve been having a flirtation with Highlander for the last few months
(97) Richie Ryan….drools
(98) But am in denial about something that didn’t happen.
(99) I love fandom
(100) I love Blair, Richie, Tom, Nick, Quinn, Brennan, Jesse, Jim, Kevin, Nick, Howie, AJ, Brian, Justin, Lance, Joey, JC and Chris.
(101) I’m a slash slut, and that’s just the way I like it 

Then to make sure this post is really long, the

I couldn't find many, just these few.

Chips [like Doritos] are called crisps, and fries are called chips. Yep. Which is just how it should be! ;)
You spell "gray" as "grey and wonder what other places have against 'U's in words".
You have heard of the TV soap "Eastenders".
You say "new" as "nyew" and not "noo", and the same with stew, dew, etc.
You call trash cans "rubbish bins".
You say data as "dayta" and not "dadda".
You don't call football "soccer". Ever. Man no. I'd never call it soccer.
To you, American football is just a different version of rugby. Not even that, all it looks like is men in tight trousers running a few feet and falling over.
Cheerleaders are non-existant were you come from.
You used the word "bloody" as swearing. Hell yeah!
You say these words: sod, blimey, shag, knickers, bollocks, arse. I do
You call vacations "holidays".
You call candy "sweets/sweeties".
You laugh when you see a magazine advertising " 10 ways to lose 2 inches off your fanny" LOL, that's one of the best ones. Fanny pack make me giggle every time I see the words.
You have more free drink refills in restaurants than you actually need to make up for all those years you've been missing out. Even if you do have to make frequent visits to the toilet Guilty.
You have a phone cord less than 400 feet long on your kitchen phone. I don't have a kitchen phone at all and I've never seen one with a long cord.

Before I go. Happy Father's Day to all the dads, especially my dad ( who would have a heart attack if he ever read this ) and James.

And now I go stare at the rain write.

Let's LJ chat! (Question: The times after the dates are not the time the reply was posted right? As you said it's only 2pm there..)

I hate rain. It's perfect weather to snuggle in bed though. Do you cook?

It's 3:15 here so I don't know what's up with the time.

I don't mind rain, as long as I'm inside *g* I do love lying in bed when it's raining, hearing the rain against the windows as I'm warm inside.

I don't cook, at least not 'real' cooking. I do enough to feed us and maybe make pasta sauce and things like that but not cakes and pies etc.

Tell me a little about you. You don't post much and when you do it's general things, so tell me as much as you're comfortable with.

A mini "Fun Facts about me" meme!

From: [identity profile] toeprint.livejournal.com
What do you want to know? :) Ask and I'll try to answer.

I like popslash, it's my first fandom, though I started out reading het. Chris and JC are my favourite members. I do read a bit of QAF occasionally. I've only read the first HP book. I'm studying abroad, and I'm majoring in Anthropology. I'm very random. (Can you tell? ;P) I'm a TV addict, and I often download shows from the net even before the local channels broadcast them. I'm not a fan of cats. I love soups, but dislike spicy stuff. I don't post much because I prefer responding to posts.

That was a wonderful mini meme.

I like a person who likes Chris ;)

You seem really interesting, and yeah random *g* But that's good, it's best to have varied interests.

Btw, do you have some kind of friends only thing on your AIM? I IMed you yesterday but didn't get an answer.

My RL friends' reaction to Chris's PO striptease: "EW!" They just don't get it!

I have the attention span of a gnat, so variety is good. :)

I have NO idea about AIM as I hardly use it. Sorry! Will check it out though. Hope to chat with you soon..

Dude, like, yes lol As I'm sure you know, I got into fanfic through Buffy and was a huge Buffy/Angel 'shipper. Then I found the Xander/Angel stories and well, the rest is history *g* Of course I have also read Tom/Chak, and am still a big B'Ellanna/Tom 'shipper lol

**smooches you** Only you could have the firs thing you write be Jim coming in Blair's hair *g* And I love you for it (and Mouse too for getting you to do it).

There was more... it's a long list and I have a short attention span lol but mostly, what you said? That. A lot "" *g*

I always find it funny when I write about my het beginnings, because I'm so into slash now. But at the time I was on the P/Ters list and loved the fic. I still do actually, I think they make a good couple. ( man, I'm going to have my slashers card taken away now *g* )

I wish I could find that e-mail with that Jim coming in Blair's hair thing. But Mouse and I have written a lot "" over the years and I've gone through three computers. It all started from that because before that point I had no interest in writing at all. Then after that Mouse encouraged and pushed until we get to this point *g*

Glad you liked :)

lol Well, as long as you think Chakotay/Tom is hot too, I think you're okay to keep your card *g* I pretty much never read het now. There's couples that I think go well together, and I don't really slash (like Aeryn/John from Farscape) and stuff, but I don't really read about it lol

lol I bet it was fantastically smutty lol

I'm pretty proud to say that I never ever read het - and no, In Another Life doesn't count, that was just an experiment.

Not that there is anything wrong with het, of course - it's just that there's something wrong with het and me in the same sentence, that's all *g*

Het's okay, it's just not what I want to read. I still think Tom and B are a good couple though, just not as good as C/P and P/K *g*

lol well it all depends what floats your boat really lol when I was 16 and impressionable (hard to believe, I know) het did it for me. Then of course I discovered the slash and um, that really did it for me *g* Sooner or later, all but the devoutly bigotted come over to the dark side lol

Man, Tom/Chak is the hottest thing ever!

Farscape is so hard to slash. I tried John/Diargo (sp?) ( the tongue potential makes that worth it *g* ) but it didn't really click.

It was smutty if I recall ;)

lol you're preaching to the choir *g* (I know what else I was gonna say about your list, you and Robert Duncan McNeil, kinda like me and Corin Nemec then? Suffice it to say that I made a fool of myself, and Charlie, who wasn't even there but did get a squeeing phone call right after, will never let me forget 'you've got no shoes?' (he asked me why I was nervous and instead of saying 'well DUH!' I answered, 'I've got issues', to he replied, well, guess lol))

Farscape is the kinda show where you could put anyone in a relationship with anyone else, they did it themselves in some of the eps (including that wonderful one where they kept switching bodies and Chiana in John's body tried to seduce Rygel in D'Argo's body into helping her escape). But yeah, the only really interesting person to slash John with is D'Argo, the tongue does help *g* then there's only really Crais and Scorpius and um, just no. lol

OMG. Robert Duncan McNeil is my my longest standing crush. I'd been a fan of his from Caretaker so when we found out there was going to be a Voyager con in Blackpool I had to go. We went and like I said it was blazing hot. I was burned and was sweating like crazy all weekend, which really wasn't nice.

We get to the opening night and RDM walks on the stage, I leaped to my feet, luckily so did everyone else and I swear I clapped so long that my hands were killing me after. Seeing him up there, and knowing he was real made me want to cry.

Later I went to get my picture taken with him, I was bright red, hot and had to stand in a long queue. I also had to go without James which freaked me out. I saw him and my legs nearly gave way. I stood and stared, then when I walked over I was so nervous. But he put his arm around my waist, and he felt so good and just...man it was good. Then the camera jammed and i had to go back *g*

Later, when I was getting autographs we tried to talk but he couldn't understand me very well :(

LOL, I knew I was spelling D'Argo wrong, it shows how long it is since I read fic.

lol other than the sunburn, sounds lovely *g* I think I would've fallen to pieces seeing him too *g* He was always my fav. Voyager boy.

It's people from Canada/America, they don't understand our kerazy English accents lol Corin stood up to look over the table to see if I was wearing shoes! (Which was sweet but like, ahhh! lol)

lol I think that's how it's spelt, don't hold me to it lol I have to admit I have never read any Farscape fic lol

Ohhh talk about a great meme! Your fannish life in 100 points, wow! Love it. I love trips down memory lane *g*

(11)castalie answered a comment on the A team list, and we began a friendship that’s lasted years

That was one of my best moves. I'm still congratulating myself for that one, btw - even years after the fact lol

(18)One day Castalie mailed and said she’d found this wonderful archive

I still remember it! It was such a revelation! And do you remember all the mails we exchanged after that one? Full of TS and Blair-squee! To think we didn't really care for Jim at the time - it's unbelievable! But we did agree that the man had one hell of a sense of humour though.

(24)I jokingly sent Castalie a short paragraph with Jim coming in Blair’s hair / (26)She liked it and encouraged me to write more / (27)The first story I ever wrote was for Castalie’s birthday and was about a blood kink.

You know, sometimes I think we're normal girls, and then I read stuff like that and I realise we're really pervs under disguise. Then I think we should try to take a break and see other people, you know normal people, but I remember how boring that would be, and one shouldn't deny their own kinkiness so I just laugh at myself for the thought!

I should try to make my own, but knowing the tendency I have to explain and detail every single thing, I'm afraid of the result - and I don't even know if I could make it, anyway lol

Btw, twas weird seeing you referring to me as Castalie instead of Mouse, btw. Made the meme much more serious or something lol

Who would have thought the A-Team would be the starting point for a journey of joint kink and perviness? *g*

LOL, yes! We were total Blairbabes and kept wondering why people liked Jim. We even swapped Jim quotes saying at least he's funny *g* That moment when I clicked on the link you sent for 852 is still fresh in my mind. It was like, WOW! Instant love.

It is funny because I'm all about the kink and I think that doesn't come out as much on here. Sure a lot of people who know me know, but the casual reader may be a little shocked by what I actually read and enjoy. I have no desire to be 'normal' I adore kink, the harder the better and one day I'll write that popslash kink. I mean I've done the TS blood kink and the MX master/slave, I have to do it for pop too.

It was hard cutting it down I tell you. I missed so much out, all the side fandoms and minor things I've enjoyed. I imagine yours could be a thousand points long and still not enough *g*

LOL, you were Castalie so people know who I mean. My close friends know who Mouse is, but the others might not, and you're too important to not name.

...and I'm American. I watched a few minutes one time. Picture it --

1) Guy is running with the ball, heading for the goal. Okay, got that.

2) Other guys (other team) chasing him to stop him, hopefully get the ball for themselves. Makes sense.

3) One of the chasers gets close enough, and leaps on the guy with the ball to bring him to the ground and he can't run any more. A bit rough, but it accomplishes the intent.

4) One or two other chasers were too close, can't stop in time, pile on the two already on the ground. Well, okay; I think they *could* swerve to the side, but marginally believable.

5) Three or four of the opposing team (from the first guy with the ball) come running in from the edges and throw themselves on top of the pile. What the *fuck*!?!? Totally unnecessary, and now that poor guy on the bottom has six or seven BIG guys piled on top of him. It's a wonder he's not crushed, or pretty badly injured. I can't understand why the officials and rules allow such a pile-up. If it were me, I'd say that only the first two in the pile-up are acceptable; all others get penalty points against their team.

So I changed the channel. I choose not to watch glorified violence, however well it's packaged and promoted. Actually, I'm not much for sports at all (except the Olympics), but if I were forced to watch, American football and boxing would be at the bottom of the list.

I love your list and I could comment on several things. I didn't realize you were into Battlestar Galactica slash as well. Some of the slash is really quite awful, but I still read it ;-).

I loved Due South, but I never got into the fanfiction. The show was enough for me. And I know, TS is very much about cliques. Even back when I was still into it. Sometimes people got ignored on the mailinglist (I'm talking about Senad), because they weren't in the "in crowd." This was very frustrating.

I'd love to read the Chris/Blair story.

I totally agree with Due South, I like the show but all the wars about the Rays make my head hurt. Man, yes about Senad too! That was the list I was talking about. It's horrible when you post and no one answers at all.

The Chris/Blair story is really a ficlet, but it's here (http://www.whitelies.net/terri/chris-blair-snippet.html)

Oh yes, most of it is pretty awful! Poor Starbuck, he gets raped, tortured, humiliated all the time. Sometimes I wondered if the people writing for this show saw the same episodes I did ;-).

Senad was pretty bad sometimes. That was the reason why I almost never posted there and the flame wars... talk about talking in circles *sigh*.

I just read the ficlet and it's just too cute.

Chris is Blair sized

Bwahaha! I love this and it's so true *g*. Also this:

a small concert listening to Chris sing, he can handle that.

Poor Jim... *g*.

Poor Starbuck is the posterchild for abuse I must admit.

Senad could be great if you were liked. But if you weren't you were often ignored, and yeah the flame wars would always pop up. The ones about DD were horrific!

I'm glad you liked the ficlet. Someone asked for it when the ficlet meme was going around, but the thing is I convinced myself it was true. Blair went to Chris' college on an exchange programme and they hit it off. Their ages are close enough to make it work, and they'd look so good together *g*

LOL. I keep imagining Jim at an Nsync concert and can't help laughing.

He really is. Just like Tom Paris and Blair sometimes ;-).

Oh yeah, don't remind me of the DD flame wars! Just awful! *shakes head*

Yeah, I can see it. They'd be friends (or more) that's for sure. You should expand on that idea. It'd be the death for Jim... all the screaming girls would kill his hearing. But it is a very funny image *g*.

Heh. :-) You already know how fabulous I think you are.

And, well, you probably realize by now that three people commenting at backstreet_slash is rather amazing. :-)

I agonised over rps and thought about getting another LJ for popslash as it was looked down on by the media slash people

Well, it's really rather sad for the poor mediaslash people, isn't it? RPS is fun!

LOL, I do, and you're fabulous too! We're all fabulous *g*

Man, you're so right! Now that I've been around a while I'm surprised I got one comment!

RPS is fun!

You've got that right, as much as I enjoy my other fandoms I'm having a blast in rps. It's cool to be able to indulge my inner child at times plus the writing kicks ass. Anyone that looks down at RPS is insane.

*giggles at the England meme* Oh, it is so true especially the 'fanny' one, I will never be able to associate that with 'bottom' ever!

LOL, yeah.

I know what people mean when they say fanny pack or mention fanny but there's no way that I think that. I end up giggling like an idiot and being rather smutty *g*

LOL. I've noticed a lot of similarities between these lists for a lot of places but the US. Obviously we're right and they're wrong ;)

Love your icon btw.
