Screwy Mixed up Day

Had a varied day yesterday. Actually wrote some more of my Sentinel AU, so the first part is done and at my betas now. I was shocked to see how long the part had been ignored, MX has been totally taking all my writing time lately. But I have a plan for the AU and really want it underway.
Fixed some mistakes that were seen on the initial beta. Had to lol at some that ME pointed out. She makes me laugh so much with the comments, like 'would Jim really sit on Hargrove Hall steps with Blair to rest if the building was falling down?' I just don't notice stupid things like that as I write the first draft, all I can say is thank god for betas!
The MX archive is up to date in terms of stories, I really need some banners but need a decent graphics programme first. I'm still debating about having some extra pages apart from just stories. Like pictures and a basic primer about each character for the casual surfer that stops by. The problem is once I start fussing with my site I'd rather do that then something that *needs* doing.
What does need doing is my personal site. I haven't even looked at it for weeks and went there yesterday and was surprised that it gets a significant amount of hits. The things a mess too, really needs stream lining and updating. I was gutted that you can't use a FTP with the free geocities site. I love using FTP now, doing pages on my desktop and just sending them to the site. Logging onto Geocities seems a hassle now.
But back to yesterday. Later I was watching Corey try his bike out. He got it for Christmas but it's been stored since then as the shop assistant recommended that he gets a bigger bike to last him for a few years. He's big for a 7 year old, the bike fits him in the legs but when he was on yesterday he couldn't use the brakes, just wasn't strong enough. I was horrified when I saw him hurtle into a fence, he hit it with a hell of a bang, front wheel first. I'm just glad he had his helmet on, as it is he hurt his chest, wrists, groin and top of his legs when he was catapulted forward.
Then later just before his bed my mam came down. She'd been drinking and caused trouble at hers as usual. She'd phoned me and I could hear my brother who lives with her shouting that I didn't want to hear her drunken crap, and he was right, I didn't. She hung up on me then five minutes later walked in the front door and started crying, saying that no one loved her. At this point i was pissed. She's pulled that crap with me and my sibs for years but no way was she doing it when my son can see. So I told her she either pack it in or get out.
So she calmed down and started talking about my sister. Told me that she didn't approve of what Kayleigh was doing. The problem is that Kayleigh has met a friend on the net, the so called problem is that this friend is a lesbian who's fallen in love with Kayleigh. Kayleigh's taking it as a joke, but they talk every day. What mam was shouting about was Kayleigh used £10 on her mobile yesterday talking to her friend. Which as she pays for the cards she has a point about. What she doesn't have a point about is what she's saying about the friend being gay. I was appalled last night, I knew that my mam had a problem with gays but the hearing it so bluntly was disgusting. What it came down to was she didn't approve and if Kayleigh said she was gay she's be thrown out.
At that point I was beyond mad, just told her that I'd never thought she was so intolerant and how wrong she was. I told her I had gay friends, but she replied that it was okay as I had James and Corey. WTF!
She left when she saw I wasn't going to take her side, went home to smash some plates or something or threaten to smash Kayleigh's computer, it's what she normally does.
Drink just turns her into someone that I don't know. What I do know is if she ever finds out what I write I'll probably be banished or something. I hate intolerance like that, hate it so much.

(/rambling entry) Now I'm off to write mails and answer comments at last.

Date: 2003-05-18 12:25 pm (UTC)Hey I never asked, do you have a Harper, Tyr and Dylan muse? 'Cos I'd like to see them...well expect Dylan, I can take or leave him.
jerk with a stick up his assno subject
Date: 2003-05-18 09:47 pm (UTC)Yeah, I have a full complement of Drom Muses - Harper Muse is babbly, hyperactive, and will do anything for pizza, Tyr Muse is quiet, though snarky when he *does* speak up, and my Dylan Muse is actually the nicest of the bunch, very sweet and thoughtful. He hates how show-Dylan treats Rommie, unless it's a good 'shipper moment. *lol*
The bane of Harper Muse's existence is that Rommmie Muse will do anyone *except* him. *lol* And Dylan Muse has a fixation with Rommie Muse in Goth mode... *grin* To bad for him Goth!Rommie Muse has a Tyr Muse fixation...

Date: 2003-05-20 10:46 am (UTC)Lol, I can just see that. But is he early Harper with the garish shirts or late Harper with those oh so tight clothes?
But nice Dylan...the way he's in canon it's hard to think of any nice Dylans. Glad that you're is nice though.
Poor Harper Muse, no Rommie sex for him, mind you, it sounds as if they all have a thing for one another lol.
I love your muses so much!
