Back from the doctors and blood has been given. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought which just proves I really am a wuss *g* The nurse was lovely and I had to laugh when she found a vein, jabbed it and no blood would come out. What am I? A vampire now ;) But she struck gold on the other arm so we're good. Now I just have to wait for the results and keep taking the rather impressive pile of tablets I have.

Guess what? It's raining again and has been since I woke up. There's actually flood warnings which sort of made me think weh? We don't get floods here but still they're warning for them. Of course we all got soaked through going out, especially as James dropped me off at mam's after the doctors so Corey and I had to walk home. I'm so tempted to put my pjs on but it isn't even dinner time yet. I know one thing though, I'm not setting foot outside the house today.

In fact my plans are to make a coffee then sort out my JC story before starting in on the in-box again. I will empty it one day. I will! Fannish wise the fact that Chris is doing an episode of Cribs makes me wants to dance around the room while grinning like a loon. Chris! Cribs! EEEEEEEEE! Nick's hair though is another matter. Oh Nicky.Why!?

I think the idea of giving blood is always scaring people more than the actual act of giving it. I know I've given blood several times when I was at the uni and it never ever hurt - besides, they give you pains au chocolat and croissants afterward to reward you from being brave and unselfish make sure you're not going to faint from the loss. I know you gave blood for medical reason but you know what I mean *g*

And they always make me laugh with their flood warnings, at least in areas like mine. Some areas are victims of flood and it's not pretty but sometimes the Gvt is a bit too worried. They did those kick ass warning at the beginning of the year in Ile-de-France and kept telling us we would have a flood worse than the one in 1927 --we live near the Seine over here and our zone is supposedly a target when floods happen-- and nothing happened! lol Sure, if they keep on warning people, one of these days they'll be right, but it'll be sheer coincidence *g*

Having blood taken is awful. I had a nurse once keep missing and she said something about if I moved, I'd get an air bubble in my blood and that could kill me. Nice bedside manner, that one. At least it's all over now. I hope something in your pile of pills does the trick for you and makes you all better fast *hugs*.

I'm not a fan of needles. Really. I hate watching myself give blood. And yet, somewhere deep down in my masochistic system, I STILL want to get a tattoo. I might just wait for the lazer percision system to come out before i think of doing so.

I don't mind needles but there was no way I could watch the blood come out. Seeing my own blood is something I'd rather pass on.

Tattoos are wonderful, but I agree getting them looks nasty.

The needle really wasn't that bad. I think it depends on the person taking the blood, I've had some people do it that seem to go out of their way to hurt. But I'll take the cookie anyway, thank you *g*

Giving blood is my phobia. I'm really, really bad with the whole process. The first time I went, I wasn't too bothered by it, but the fact is, it *hurt*. It burned, and I could feel the burning all the way up my arm. Naturally, the next time I had to have blood drawn I wasn't all too pleased by the prospect. They strapped me into this black chair but I still managed to give the nurse an impressive black eye and nicely bruised thigh. The next time, I not only was restrained, I had a panic attack and had to be admitted to hospital. Last time, they didn't have restraints and the nurse refused to see me. Instead, the doctor took blood. My mam lay across my body and my best friend held my legs as best she could. I still got the doctor's ribs. Next time, they're going to make me take valium before I go... I know it's pathetic, I know it'll do me good in the long run, but I really am mortally afraid of the things. I feel bad about hitting the doctor and the nurse, but my instinct is certainly fight, not flight (or faint, which would be the asier option)...

It's obvious that you've a phobia about giving blood and the fact you even go into the room takes a huge amount of courage.

And may I say how good it is to read someone else with a mam. I love seeing that amongst all the moms and mums I usually see.

I'm late getting my bloodwork this week because of class. I was supposed to go on Monday, but didn't have time. Looks like Saturday for me. Whee. I'm used to it now. I don't even get nervous about it anymore... scary!

Goign every week gets you used to it pretty quickly! It sucks, but that's life for me.

I always imagine the worst things and in the end it's not even close to my imagination ;-). Happened to me when I donated blood, it was pretty cool with all the free drinks and free chocolate I got after ;-). So, anyway, I hope the results aren't bad or anything.
