Aug. 13th, 2004 01:36 pmI've been updating my site this morning, and yet again proving to myself that html will be the death of me yet. But everything's up. The Rage-ing JC challenge, the hurty Timbertrick ficlet and one of the mini Boxes scenes I did. The other mini Boxes scene is sidelined until I work out how JC and Chris can see a cove in the pitch black without any kind of light. Just one of those mistakes that make you laugh. At least I do, but then again I think you have to laugh at your fiction mistakes *g*
Last night I swear I've never been so itchy. I couldn't sleep at all and ended up downstairs at 3am, tired, pissy and so itchy that I needed some scratch mitts. When I was sitting glaring at the tv it clicked it could be something to do with the new tablets so I read the leaflet and sure enough itching is a side effect. Though I have to say reading those leaflets isn't a good thing to do, I'm sitting waiting for my skin to fall off now *g* However, the itching is also gone so I don't care. I just have to laugh that the tablets I got for something I didn't even know I had made me feel worse.
I'm feeling the need for a new tv show. Not a fandom, just something new that I can get excited at watching again, but there's nothing. All my favourite shows are cancelled, and may I say here that I'm very bitter still about those bastards cancelling Mutant X, can't they see quality when they see it? Who cares if you could drive a truck through the plot holes. There were pretty mutants that could shoot electricity! There was Brennan who was the best character in the world! to me anyway. While I'm on I'm still bitter that Voyager finished too and that people won't recognise it's the best Trek ever. The Sentinel, should also be on dvd and Andromeda should come back but in the early seasons when it wasn't the Dylan Hunt and his dick show. Hell give Harper a show, I'd watch. I miss the X-Files, Mulder, why did you abandon me? Fastlane. No one gave that show a chance and Van and Deaq were the slashiest thing on tv next to Jim and Blair. No wonder I'm all about the sdbs, there's no new media that captures my attention.
I've been watching the Men Strike Back footage I got off
_bettina_ this morning, and before I go on I have to say, man skirt...drools. Anyway, as part of The One Nick walks down into the audience and starts dancing with this girl and I was thinking if that was me there's no way I could dance with him. In fact what would happen is he'd come to dance and I'd collapse back in my chair while babbling incoherently. If Kevin came to dance I'd be finished off. Which brings me nicely to the fact that I'm GIPing again. I felt the need for a new Kevin icon as all the boys love on the flist is delighting me lately. So yes, Kevin, my very first sdb crush and as such a man that holds a special place in my heart.
ETA: While I'm being all bitter. I'm so close to becoming a Justin fangirl, changing my header, icons and everything. Because god damn, some of the Justin haters out there are round the bloody bend. That'll teach me to go freindsfreinds surfing.

Date: 2004-08-13 05:51 am (UTC)I NEVER felt this hate for Robbie and I don't recall their being this much fuss over him leaving, I think most people saw it as a natural progression.
It's bizzare how people seem to let this into their lives so much, at the end of the day, they're a popgroup.

Date: 2004-08-13 06:15 am (UTC)There's a fine line between being fannish and being a nutjob. Problem is a lot of people have crossed that line.

Date: 2004-08-13 06:12 am (UTC)Yes! Justin rules! Honestly, until I see him say things himself I'm not buying all the crap he's supposed to have said. I like him and will continue to do so.
*dances with you*

Date: 2004-08-13 05:53 am (UTC)I'm a bit luckier than you because I still have Jake 2.0 though I don't think for very long, and I also have Without a Trace plus The 70's Show which cracks me up and Third Watch just before that. I also have this brand new French cop show every Friday with my only French slash pairing ever, namely Faust/Valentin and I can find other series to watch here and there on the telly. And of course I have SG S8 plus SG:A coming to my mailbox on a regular basis *g*
I hate when every of my favourite shows disappear from the screen, it feels like desert time!

Date: 2004-08-13 06:08 am (UTC)We have WAT but I've never watched it. I might have to look it up now you've mentioned it. Yeah, I know you have SG:A. I've been reading your posts and getting totally lost *g*
I mean, all I knew there was a rainbow in it and it seems there isn't at all. *is lost*

BASTARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I liked fastlane, loved it, taped it when Sky one decided to show it at 12am and then 1am (bastards)
I've still got the ep 101 on tape

I love that ep

Date: 2004-08-13 06:03 am (UTC)It was renewed then just after announcing that the company who made it decided it couldn't afford to do so anymore, so MX and Andromeda were both cancelled. The last thing I knew there was a legal battle going on to make them cough up the money but it doesn't look good.
I taped all the Fastlanes too. It was a wonderful show that wasn't given a chance like so many these days.

Date: 2004-08-13 06:53 am (UTC)Poor Justin is my 5th favorite NSync dude, but I don't feel any hate for him. How can someone claim to be an NSync fan and hate 20% of the group? Yep, a few people have taken that giant step across the line from fannish to nuttish. About as silly as hating someone because you don't like their fiction *whistles*.
*avoids people who hate other people*
At least there are many people out there who make fandoms fun, which is what they should be. Hopefully the nutty ones will find something else to be nutty about *grin*.
*wonders if Terri can shed her itchy skin like a snake, because that might be kind of cool*
I hope the pills start doing what they're supposed to do and stop having bothersome side effects. Soon. *hugs you*

Date: 2004-08-13 06:59 am (UTC)Justin's my fifth favourite too, not because I dislike him in any way, just the other four do it for me more, and yeah, we all know the nut jobs *g*
ROTFLMAO
I wish I could shed my skin, that way the infected stuff would be left behind, way cool.
I've only three left of the itchy ones so hopefully there'll be no more itching. However there's still millions of evil antibiotics...sigh.

Date: 2004-08-13 07:25 am (UTC)I went red and blotchy with tablets once, combination, I'm now no longer allowed to take the amoxycillen family of antibiotics as they don't know if it was a one off or not.

Date: 2004-08-13 07:37 am (UTC)I've aways had the biggest crush on David Duchovny. I really need to save $ and get the DVDs. I rememeber that early X-Files was awesome, but then it started getting shitty around season 7.
Speaking of boxes...I've lost track of the timeline of the series. Are these little side vignets or parts of a sequel? I'm confused. The last installment I read was when the lambs went back and saw JC's drawing of the phoenix on the wall. I must add that that series was one of my favorites ever, even though they had pairings that I normally don't read.

Date: 2004-08-13 07:48 am (UTC)LOL. I think I've confused a lot of people with Boxes. At the moment I'm writing the sequel. I was posting it regularly but I joined a lot of challenges so it's been side lined for a while.
The stories that I posted are little side snippets set after JC and Chris leave. Sort of snap shots of their journey. You don't need to read them for the main story, they're just side shoots that I do sometimes.
I'm glad you like the series. I ended writing a pairing I usually don't ( lambs ) and surprising myself by liking it.

Date: 2004-08-13 09:24 am (UTC)I started watching Stargate Atlantis (well, downloading and then watching ;-), it's fun to watch. Other than that, there's not much to watch around here. What would I give for a Methos TV series? ;-)
That skirt! *yum* Kevin looks just stunning and if any of them would dance with me I think I might probably faint. Kevin is a very handsome man and he's even sexier in RL (saw him last year in London in Chicago).
Justin is not my favorite, but that doesn't mean I hate him. I don't get it, he's part of NSync. I love all of them. Some People... *sigh*.
no subject
Date: 2004-08-13 10:28 am (UTC)I should download Atlantis
Lol, I'm glad it's not just me with the fainting thing, and lucky you seeing Kevin in RL.
I don't get it, he's part of NSync. I love all of them. Some People... *sigh*.
Agreed. I should stick to my own flist. It's easier that way.

Date: 2004-08-13 10:23 am (UTC)I'll only believe any of these stupid rumours when they show footage of any of them actually admitting them, and even then I'd be skeptical. They'll release when they're ready and the only people that know that are them. But in the meantime I'll keep on getting pissed at all the OMG Justin is teh evil posts.
Deaq and van and JC....head explodes.

Date: 2004-08-13 12:32 pm (UTC)I'd recommend Firefly but, man, it just breaks your heart to watch episode 14 and realised that's it. Actually, the only thing I make even a slight effort to watch on TV right now is CSI.

Date: 2004-08-16 06:39 am (UTC)I watched a part of Firefly to see Richard Burgi from The Sentinel in a guest spot. I'll watch out for it again if you think it's so good.
I don't watch CSI either. It's one of those shows that seem always to be on but I make no effort to see. I'll have to change that I think.
Thanks for the recs.

Date: 2004-08-13 01:21 pm (UTC)I have a love-hate relationship with that page. On the one hand, it's where I usually find new people to friend. On the other hand, there are some real nutjobs. I haven't been online lately, and haven't been privy to the latest wave of Justin hate, but in general, I just don't get it.
It does make me want to focus some of my fannish love on the boy, 'cause hating just isn't cool.
I am going through some television bitterness myself. I'm all about Smallville, but I know you hate it, so I won't even try to convert you. Have you checked out Dead Like Me? I love that show.
no subject
Date: 2004-08-14 02:16 am (UTC)As for Justin, I like him and will continue to do so.
I don't hate Smallville, I just can't get into it which is a shame. Dead like Me was on earlier this year I think but I don't know if it's being shown here again. It's a shame as I enjoyed the few episodes I saw.

Date: 2004-08-16 10:33 am (UTC)Boxes is the series closest to my heart. It's the one I'm most proud of and I'm thrilled you enjoyed it so much. I'm especially glad you thought the characterisation was okay. I always worry when doing an AU that I'll lose their characters without a familiar setting, so I'm glad that didn't happen.
Thank you again, Steph.
