Aug. 16th, 2004 02:31 pmA great time was had at the beach last night. Picked the in-laws up and headed to the coast where we played in the sand until going home later. We stayed out late after dropping the in-laws off again, later than I've been out recently that's for sure *g* One low spot was when we were coming home with the in-laws. The bridge to get over the river was closed off, we didn't know why at the time but suspected it was a jumper as the Wear bridge attracts a load of people doing that. So we dropped them off and James being James wanted to know what was going on. He's incredibly nosy, when there was a bomb found last year he went to watch it being detonated despite it being in the early hours of the morning and being allowed nowhere near the explosion site. Anyway, we drove down to the riverside under the bridge and it was full of cars, so many people sitting watching this guy hanging over the side of the bridge. There were even people there with binoculars and I just wanted to ask them what kind of sick freaks they were. I told James he was a sick freak too btw, especially when he said he would have probably stayed if Corey and I wasn't in the car. I mean, why would anyone want to see someone plummet into the river? I hope the guy didn't jump and he gets the help he so obviously needs.
I may have awakened my E-Bay addiction this morning. I've kept away for months due to the money thing, but man, I could hear the swag calling when I came online this morning. Really I could. Little marionettes whispering Terri, buy us, you know you want to . Hey, if Jessa can talk to 2D Justin I can listen to swag ;) The little things make me so happy, stickers, magnets, glittery pens. Which is why my desk looks like it belongs to a pre teen as it's surrounded by sdb and MX swag. I'm telling you, give me a day and I'll have ten bids on the go and be cursing when I'm outbid.
I was debating about pulling out of the soap opera challenge yesterday but changed my mind. As it stands I have two challenges left to do so if I get this soap opera one done I'm in the clear for the other. An excuse to write semi-bad fic has to be good, which is what I do every time but shush *g* No, I really need to get a start on that, the same way I need to answer the 7368264902 mails in my in-box because I suck.
After my whine about not watching anything on tv at the moment I have to say I forgot about Sic Feet Under, a wonderful show that broke me last night :( I'm also downloading Stargate Atlantis so I can see what the fuss is about. I'll be nice to understand
I'll end on a question. Bulletin Boards. Why are 90% of people that post on them bloody idiots? I also don't mean the board that you're probably thinking of, I keep away from that one. One day I'll learn to just read my own flist, that way I won't want to put my fist through the monitor on a regular basis.

Date: 2004-08-16 06:46 am (UTC)Glad you had a (mostly) good night last night, hon. I wish we lived near something pretty, like a beach, or river that doesn't smell lol Well, I mean, that's just being unfair... there's lots of places to go, we just don't lol though I may be going to the zooooooo! with Charlie & the wee one tomorrow. God I haven't been to London Zoo in about 12 years lol Why am I still talking? Oh wait, yes.
I could comment on everything in this post, but I'm not gonna, we'll leave it at 'swag!' and 'go Terri, nearly done with your challenges (you know you're gonna sign up for some new ones *g*)' and 'those are good shows' and um, 'bulletin boards= EVIL!' yes indeed. Oh lok, I did just comment on everything. God I'm hyper. I go now 'cause, wow.

Date: 2004-08-16 10:28 am (UTC)I love the beach, which is good as we tend to end up there all the time *g* I've been to the zoo more times than you it seems. We were there last year and very cool it was too.
Swag is of the devil. I crave it so when I see it, but I need Nsync and Boys stickers. I really do!
As for the challenges. I hold you responsible. You went off line and I went crazy *g* But yes, only two to do now.
Bulletin boards are totally evil and full of people who would believe the world was square if a tabloid told them so.
Plus, you deserve to be hyper you wonderful burger AU writer. You made my day posting that :D

Date: 2004-08-16 11:17 am (UTC)Swag is of the devil. But you really do need BSB/'NSync stickers, oh yes. And pens, and bubble gum, and all the crazy arse things that I've seen around. Oh! OH! And Folders! And Writing pads! Those things are practical and sparkly! *g*
lol I'm willing to be held responsible for you challenge sign up spree, I put my foot down and ended too though so I figure it balances out lol
The world isn't square? Geez, but I read on this girl's journal that someone close to the government said it was! Are you suuuure? **eyes you doubtfully** *g*
lol I am hyper, I've been hyper for the last three days, it is not of the good lol **bounces** Anything to brighten your day my love :)

It's true about the swag. It's a shame I've already sent your parcel or you would have had an envelope covered in sdb stickers *g*

Ooooooooooh! You've sent my parcel! *squees* Well, you could always send me something else. I will celebrate my 28½ day on December 15...and my 10th year as a declared Bahá'í on Oct 1...just so you know. ;-þ

Date: 2004-08-18 10:47 am (UTC)And there's at least one person using a Broadway musical and another using a TV show, so feel free to use something like that, or a book... ..as long as it's relatively well-known, or if you can provide a little info or a link to info about it so people aren't completely clueless.
If you want to see what other people have selected, it's all in the comments in my posts, which you can also get to through my Memories.

Date: 2004-08-17 04:44 am (UTC)Atlantis is still downloading. James killed my torrent when he set three movies away downloading. They're going great, poor Atlantis is crawling. But no worries, a report will come!

Date: 2004-08-17 06:21 am (UTC)Damn, that S4 premiere does sound like a tear jerker - then again, it's 6FU at its finest. I'm sure the scene with Nate screaming and crying is going to make cry along with him, damn... that had to be a powerful scene.
Also, keep me posted on David and Keith - I'd like to know what is up with those guys.
Will you ever be able to watch Atlantis, I wonder? lol That being said, I still haven't watched 38 Minutes myself even though the CD has been awaiting me for ages now *shakes head* Are we next week, yet? *g*
