Aug. 27th, 2004 04:54 pmI swear James' job is going to drive me insane never mind him. His immediate boss changed her mind yet again about how much trouble he's in. This time he's more angry than upset and brought a load of forms that show he's in the right. He's also involved the union who say if he does get dismissed it'll be an unfair dismissal. He had me going through the forms last night which means I now know more about tax credits and how you award them than I really wanted to know. But I'd much rather him be angry than upset.
Lia came up last night too to take Kayleigh down to Pride today. They're going to see Busted, McFly and Darren Hayes. Darren Hayes, I'm so jealous. She went off with this splendid t-shirt that said I only sleep with pretty girls. Somehow I think she snuck it into her case as when I was up mam's earlier she was going off it about a poster Kay has of two women kissing. I really need to get a male version for my house now *g*
We've had a quick trip to the beach this morning. Because of the bad weather there was a load of beautiful driftwood piled on the shoreline. Huge pieces all knotty and smooth. We couldn't stay long though as I had a doctor's appointment. I told her my leg had been hurting the last day so she changed the dressing type yet again and said I have to keep the one I have on at least three days, which will make showering fun. But I have yet more boxes of dressings. I'll be able to open my own chemist soon.
Fannish wise I sort of went back to my roots yesterday and went to 852 Prospect.
castalie you've seen this so sorry about the repeat. I was checking the new stories and a lot of them had been posted at
sentinel_thurs and I just felt like going HA! to the people who say LJ is killing off mailing lists. From what I can see LJ is working just fine in conjunction with them. We have some incredible writers at our comm, writers that post at SXF and give enjoyment to other sen fen, and where do the stories start? On LJ, the so called place that's killing the fandom.
Good things today? When Silver crashed Word auto saved that damn Trickyfish, of course I lost all the tabs I had open but I think I can remember most of them. Bad things? I have to go gather some stuff for the car boot sale in the morning. Which means I'm on clutter watch. I swear each time we do this there's threats to my stuff. If anyone mentions my Voyager stuff again they'll be stuffed in the car boot.
Mail and comments later. Everyone waiting for something, I haven't forgotten promise. RL has just been hectic. Forgive me. *looks at you with big eyes*

Yes! Rock On, Terri!
Stuff is important, and must be respected and protected! *turns up Spice Girls to drown Madonna's Material
GirlBoy out of his head*I still remember when our parents sold my brother's and my ENTIRE action figure collections from my two favorite cartoons without even asking, they just assumed that if we didn't play with them much anymore they must not be improtant. I spent DAYS wailing and arguing at them otherwise, but it was a bit late by then... ..at least I still had my favorite character in my desk drawer. He's still there, lol.

Date: 2004-08-28 01:44 pm (UTC)Of course sometimes that stuff gets out of hand and you have to get rid of it but it has to be your own decision, no one elses. I would have been gutted about the action figures too.
Was your favourite a red ranger by any chance?

Date: 2004-08-28 01:54 pm (UTC)No.
Power Rangers is only ten years old, I was working for Toys R Us when they came out, and bought 'em all for my youngest brother. He stopped playing with them after a few years, and now I have them all in a box, lol.
No, no, back when I was 10 it was He-Man and ThunderCats. I still have my bashed & battered Tygra figure *g*

Date: 2004-08-28 04:08 pm (UTC)I've quite a few stories of the trials and tribulations of collecting the original MMPR toys, even with such a direct 'in' as working for TRU...
*smiles at the pleasant memory of standing in a the midst of a throng of mothers, handing out action figures whilst asking things like: "Who needs a Red? A Blue? I've got one Pink left...*

Date: 2004-08-27 10:24 am (UTC)I may have already seen it but it's one of those subjects I can't get tired of, so ramble again about it, sis -woohoo! Actually, I think it's worth repeating because it shows all those LJ haters that they are so wrong and in fact don't know the first thing about the LJ community. Yes, both 852 Prospect and Cascade Library are getting lots of wonderful stories and so
notsorry to disappoint, but a huge part of them actually come from LJ!no subject
Date: 2004-08-28 01:48 pm (UTC)Man yeah. The LJ haters do my head in. I don't get why they hate it so when obviously LJ is becoming a big part of TS fandom. Join up and see for yourselves. You don't even have to post. Some people, they need a good kick up the ass.

She went off with this splendid t-shirt that said I only sleep with pretty girls.
Oooooh! *grins* I need more provocative shirts...like "invalid" or maybe even "DIsabilityQueen" *eg*
