Nov. 8th, 2004 11:55 amThe christening went okay yesterday, I had a nice time with the in-laws, especially my niece who's the cutest little two year old in the world. Of course she wouldn't stay quiet in the Church so I did my best to entertain her while the actual christening went on. That didn't stop her taking off under the pews though, thankfully Corey was on the case and brought her back *g*
After we drove to the pub where there was the worst disco ever. For one thing it was loud, very loud. I love music, I max it up myself when I'm alone but not in a setting like that. There was an okay buffet, typical buffet food, pickled onions, pineapple and cheese on sticks etc. I had to laugh when Corey went back for some cake. Most people were helping themselves to small pieces he came back with two huge wedges. But yeah it was fun, the only bad bit was the room was up two steep flights of stairs and the MiL has really bad knees and could hardly get up. She also got stuck in her chair, it's so hard to see.
James has actually gone to see his mam now. He says he wants to spend time with her and I'm sure he does. On the other hand the fact her house is a minutes drive from the garage and his new car helps too ;)
I'm thinking of stealing an idea from
giddyupnow and
escapist_xbq for my Christmas cards, I was wanting to add something and in a choice between cds and ficlets the cd idea won. So look for a post later about that.
Last, Corey and I did the art pad thing. Our effort is http://artpad.art.com/?i6t3711hktf8. I'd love to say it's as good as some I've seen but well, it's just not.
I know technically it's too early to dust off my Christmas icon but I had to, I'm weak like that.
ETA: Okay, a question to you Brits out there. You know that advert about the Chinese little girls and the singing cherry on the cake? What the hell is it about? The cherry is freaky and I just don't get to how it relates to the product.

Date: 2004-11-08 04:20 am (UTC)I did have a nice weekend, very busy and I totally had to lie yesterday, telling the baby's mam that we'd forgotten the gifts. Which we had but I wasn't going to tell her we'd forgotten altogether and hadn't bought them yet *blush*
Sigh, typical. I've taken the code out, does it work now?

Sigh, other people can see the link. I guess you'll just have to imagine our masterpiece *g*

Date: 2004-11-08 04:18 am (UTC)Glad the christening went well. Two year olds are cute -- my niece is 18 mos and *adorable* -- but it's nice knowing you can hand 'em back, isn't it? :) I don't have enough energy, barely, for a ten year old. Anything smaller would wear me the hell out.

Date: 2004-11-08 04:22 am (UTC)Man yeah I totally agree about handing them back. I love spending time with my niece but just thinking about taking care of her 24/7 makes me want a nap.

Date: 2004-11-08 05:18 am (UTC)I'm glad you enjoyed your weekend, hon. Love the Corey and Mam picture. It's adorable that you do artistic projects together. It's easy to see that he's such a wonderful child because of all the time you spend with him.
*votes for Terri as best Mam of the year*
PS: I caved and signed up for SeSa this morning.

You did?! That's the best news I've had today! That's so wonderful, I'm so glad that you did!

Date: 2004-11-08 08:56 am (UTC)Plus the art thing is so cute, I love watching it unfold in front of you, I'll have to have a go myself!!
You know that advert about the Chinese little girls and the singing cherry on the cake?
*nods* I know exactly what you mean! I've seen it a couple of times now and personally, it gets more freaky every time I see it! What were they on when they came up with that one???!!!!

Date: 2004-11-11 10:23 am (UTC)Did you have a go at the art thing? It's a cool thing to try.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that finds that advert so freaky. I suspect drugs were involved in the planning stages for that.

Date: 2004-11-08 09:04 am (UTC)Wow.
It's *SO* cool to see that again, but has it been a year ALREADY? Oi.
And you're not early, it's past
HalloweenGuy Fawke's & you don't have a Thanksgiving, so Christmas is next!!I am going to be strong & not break out my Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. I am. I am! stop looking at me like that. my SeSa muse might need it...
And the art thingie is nifty, I may actually have to do it myself, I'm having having artistic ideas for the first time in forever...

Date: 2004-11-11 10:26 am (UTC)LOL, it doesn't seem too early now that you've rationalised it for me.
Oh go and break out the Christmas music now, you know you want to ;)
SeSa!!!! Ahem, sorry *g*

Date: 2004-11-11 04:09 pm (UTC)And today was only the 2nd day of the new job, but so far it's absolutely fabulous. The girls I'm working with are great, I share a love of dance music with one of them (her husband's a DJ...) and plan on burning some *Nsync/JC/Alanis/other pop CDs to bring to work and sing along to in our little money counting room.
It's fab! ^_^

I love the Christmas icon, I should bring back mine in a couple weeks. It's not as great as yours, though.
