This last weekend has been insanely busy. Christmas shopping on both Sat and Sun, once with the in-laws and once with my family.Doing house stuff and making lists. Lots of lists as James and I sat and arranged things. It was so lovely shopping, especially on Sat when we were at Sunderland and the kiddie rides were in the main street. They were playing Christmas songs and it was cold and Corey and I had just looked at the Christmas decorations and it was just one of those happy moments you know? Then we picked up the in-laws and headed to Metro centre. Corey took Keira through the Christmas village, he was so proud pushing her in her buggy and they had so much fun. Not least when he went in the echo tree. You're supposed to put your head in and say something, he made farting noises *g* So our shopping is started at least and now we have parcels hidden around the house and bags with new decorations ready to be put up and it's just so much fun!

What's not fun is James may have to work 11 to 10 shift on Christmas and Boxing day. They asked for volunteers and James said he'd go in for a two hours but it seems no one else would so the whole team may be pulled in. 11 to 10 man, when are we supposed to have dinner? And I know it's not the end of the world to work on Christmas and Boxing day, my dad did it and I wasn't traumatised by it or anything but dad's a fireman and needed to work, why do you need mobile phone guys at Christmas?

But enough of that, he may sort something out so I'm not letting my Christmas spirit diminish yet.

The mortgage guy is coming in an hour which is why more jobs had to be done over the weekend. I just wish he was here and gone, discussing mortgage rates just isn't fun especially as James will have to take Corey to the cubs and leave me alone with scary mortgage guy for a while. It's also Corey's first time at cubs. I thought a long time about him joining as he's pretty reserved but I figure he might like it and even if he doesn't it's fine, at least he tried it out.

Talking of which I'd better make sure he's changed and do a last pass over before mortgage man comes.

ETA: James may not have long to live. He just came in, I asked him what time the man was coming and he says 'oh I put him off until Wed'

can't you just have the coffee man come instead of the mortgage man?
also, jeez. I've started to think about christmas cards to all you guys in lj land, but so not on rl. my christmas spirit is like, dead, I think.
also? I don't get that. why would people want to buy cells on christmas? ( boxing day is the day after christmas, right? )

I wish, the coffee man is so much better.

I'm sorry your Christmas spirit is dead, you're more than welcome to share mine. Tone it down a little maybe before I annoy everyone ;)

It's mainly for the tech side of cell phones he'll need to go in. Setting up new phones and all that, and yeah, Boxing day is the day after.

You wouldn't kill mine, I have enough Christmas spirit for everyone ;)

Whoever decided exams should be in Jan are idiots, but you know I have total faith that you'll do wonderfully at them. I know it's hard but I'm so proud of how you're determined to keep on going.

Poor James was subjected to the death glare for a while ;)

Sadly SeSa is taking all my time so no angst from me, it's a shame, I could do with some angst.

I haven't even started yet, since it's still November and I'm really behind on NaNo. I have sincere doubts that I can pull this off.... I'll e-mail you privately about it, all right?

it's a shame, I could do with some angst.
No angst in your sesa, huh? Too bad.

if you kill James, he won't have to work on Christmas or Boxing Day!

is James' job in tech support or somthing? because they might be needed to help all the folks who get a new mobile for the holidays. I know my mom *always* needs help sorting out functions and getting hers working

LOL. True, I think you saved him yesterday ;)

Yeah he helps with the new phone sets ups. I can understand why he has to work it's just a shame they couldn't split the shift somehow.

But everyone stays at home over Christmas, why would you want to use a cellphone???

Do you know the story of the girl who loved Christmas, but one year found out that she did not have long enough to live to see another Christmas, and then the whole village decided to celebrate Christmas one month early with her? The moral would be, that christmas is whenever your loved ones celebrate it with you.
Aren't I quite the annoying smart ass today? *slaps self*

I know! I stay at home all over Christmas but it seems a lot of people go out, the mad things *shakes head*

Nope, I didn't know that story but I get what you mean and you're not a smart ass at all, just giving me some perspective *g*

Well, I do have some smart ass tendencies, but I love that story.
My father used to read it to us every christmas. Being a soldier he had to work at least on one of the holidays most of the years as well.

I'll have to look around if I can find an English version of it, because it is a really lovely story.
