Corey loved Cubs which was such a relief. So did his dad which really shouldn't be a surprise as James used to be a scout. He was taking about finding his old neck thing as it seems each tribe/troop/whatever has their own colour. So it looks like we'll be forking out for a Cubs uniform soon but I don't care how much James wants it, he's not getting the adults version *g*

After Cubs I spent time with my brother online and man his e mails hurt to read. He's two years younger than me yet his mails read like the worst teeny. No punctuation or capital letters, shortened words, all that was missing was some animated smilies. It's strange, talking to him that way meant I nearly dropped into ' slasher friend' mode. He made a joke about being able to hack my computer soon and I was so close to replying 'why do you want to read and watch my gay porn?' But man, it's my brother, we don't joke around like that. I mean he knows but that doesn't mean he really knows. Of course now I worry that he'll find my site/LJ somehow by imputing my addy into Google. The chance of that is tiny I know but still. So Chris, if you're reading this, yeah the gay porn thing is a pretty important part of my life and if that makes you uncomfortable, which I know it will, don't read any more. You really don't want to know what else I like ;)

The wish meme. I finally decided to play.

Step One

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use -- or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free -- do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf -- to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not -- it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

(1) I'd love some Chris fic. I'd especially love something long, I'm thinking hundreds of pages long here. Any pairing, I'm easy. However, I know people are busy with SeSa so I'll take any length at any time, just the fact people write for me makes me wiggle with joy.

(2) Swag. Swag is good for the soul and every time I get a parcel I squee with glee. I'd especially love the Canadian bobbleheads but anything would do, posters, pencils, bags I love getting it all.

(3) The Sentinel on DVD

(4) Mutant X season 2 and 3 on DVD.

(5) The Reel Nsync on DVD.

(6) A SDB calendar that's not Justin ( I have that anyway ) I want Nsync or BSB, a Chris one would rock. Which yeah I know that's not going to happen but it should! Why oh why do they put out a million calendars and not a Chris one? I'd buy it!

(7) I wish that no more bad things happen this year. There's been enough deaths, dramas and general bad stuff now. I also want to feel 100% again, no more doctors visits and needing to sleep so early at night.

(8) I want my son to grow into the wonderful man he's destined to be. My husband to be happy at work and for people to stop staring at him like he's some kind of freak. My sister to live her life the way she wants and for people to accept her for who she is. My mam to overcome the demons that twist her inside. For my dad to find drugs that stop the Parkinson's from getting worse. My nanna to find peace at least without grandad. My brother to find out why he can't have children. My MiL to be able to walk without pain.

(9) I want something for every one of you. To find happiness in your lives and to let you know that everyone of you matters to me in some way, be that large and small.

(10) Last thing. I want you to go out today and do something good. It can be small or big, a smile, drop some money in a charity box, donate old clothes anything as long as you do it with goodwill.

Whoa, I feel greedy now.

I had to grin a little at #10, because I just came back from reading about a hundred (so maybe I am exaggerating a little, but definitely not much) sell-by dates to an old, almost blind lady at the supermarket.
Will that be alright for now?

That meme is taking over my flist it seems *g*

You're pretty altruist, sis *g*

Btw, what is 'swag' exactly?

swag=fandom merchandise

So.... ..*Nsync has truckloads, lmao.

Notebooks, keychains, posters, stickers, the infamous puppets, bobbleheads, & lipbalm... ..'tis all swag.

Swag is goodies, and they are good.

And generally completely pointless, but they support the fandom and put imagery of the fandom in your hot little hands, so who could dislike swag, hm?

*starts thinking about what she can do*

Well, I'll come up with something. #10 should be the easiest, really, I just have to figure out what to do exactly.

Don't count on any 100 page fic from me anyday soon. I'm hoping to reach page 70 on my NaNovel today, am way behind, and need to start thinking about the sesa.....

Whoa, I feel greedy now.
With all those unselfish wishes you made, I really don't think you should. *see icon*

(3) The Sentinel on DVD

I want them too! I haven't been into the TS fandom for a long time, but I'd love to have the show on DVD. It would be so great, I have them on tape, but still, DVD would be so much better :-).

Yeah, I have them all on tape too but DVDs are always better. Both in terms of quality and the room they take.

Quality of the actual episodes is another matter ;)

TS has some great eps and some terrible ones.

True, the quality of some of the episodes is really bad, 2nd and 3rd generation tapes. I'd love to have them with a crystal clear picture.

Well thank you, I'm glad you think so, but sadly I have faults too. Then again doesn't everyone?

You're very special too you know, don't forget that.

Mwahahaa!!!

Dude, Terri, I ALREADY have swag and a certain DVD set aside for you...

..wasn't sure if you had it, but there were indications, so I was gonna risk it... ..and now your list has confirmed it! YAAAAY!!!

And I'm thinking of sending some Twizzlers, too, just so you can experience them, but then you'll probably love them and won't be able to get anymore and I'll be all guilty, lol.

Oh man, I'm so excited about Christmas and now I'm even more so!

I have stuff for you too!

Thank you!

About the Twizzlers. It's strange how often they've popped up this week. I was talking to [livejournal.com profile] silveryscrape in a comment and she joked that Chris may eat them on top of a ham and beetroot sandwich and I was like...ick. Strange comment I know, I guess you had to be there *g*
