Still tired, so doing a little meme to try and wake up. So gakked from [livejournal.com profile] dolimir

How many fandoms do you belong to in any capacity; reading, writing, etc. what are they?

I suppose it depends on what you define as a fandom. I read a lot of stuff, but it doesn't mean I'm actually in the fandom as such. The fandoms I'm active in are Mutant X and The Sentinel, but I read in popslash, Fastlane, Trek, X Files, Stargate, Highlander, X Men, Poltergeist the Legacy. But I'd really say that of all those I only really 'belong' to Mutant X and The Sentinel.

How many of these have you published fics in?

None in zines yet. Online, Mutant X, The Sentinel and Fastlane

How many fics have you published?
Total : 29
The Sentinel: 15
Mutant X: 13
Fastlane: 1

How many of these have been gen?
8 in TS

How many of these have been het?
None

How many of these have been slash?
21

How many fics are you currently working on?
Too many! Chapter 2 of The End, a round robin in TS, a case story that I'm tribbing for a TS zine. I've 2 MX fics that need to be edited and two more that I'm working on. I've also a popslash that I doubt will ever leave my hard drive. It looks like I'm working on a lot but I tend to chose one and stick to it.

How many of these will you actually finish?
All of them, I never leave a story hanging.

How many beta readers do you have?
5.

For The Sentinel : [livejournal.com profile] castalie is my primary beta. I don't send anything to anyone till she looks it over for me and gives me her initial verdict. She doesn't beta as such, ie do grammar etc but I know she'll never let me send something out that's a bad idea, and I do have bad ideas at times *g*
Starwatcher is my grammar and word queen. She's teaching me how to actually write, sentence structure, grammar, the lot. It's her mission to teach me a bigger vocabulary. The woman doesn't let anything go, and I love her for it.
Mary Ellen is my plot hole beta. She finds mistakes and makes me lol by mocking them. She keeps pushing me to expand and explain and makes me work hard. She's also my main American beta, teaching me the whole list of words that I need to know.

In Mutant X JenCat is my main beta. She pushes me too, always wanting more. My newest beta is Vera, god she demands explanations for everything, and that's exactly what I need in a beta.

How many of them are candidates for beta sainthood?
All of them. I'm *totally* insecure about my ability to write, if you think I'm bad here you should see what they have to read in private mails. They all go up and above what their job actually is.

How many archives are your fics on? (excluding ff.net)
3 My MX archive, 852 Prospect and Cascade Library

How many fandom-oriented lists do you belong to?
At one point I was on over 100. But a lot of those are on no mail now. I've found that the more that I write the less time I have to read.

How many years have you been reading fanfic? Writing it?
Reading, about 5 years. Had no idea that it excisted until I got online. Writing, about a year and a half.

How many more years are you likely to be reading and writing fic?
Reading, I can't imagine not reading it. Writing, I'm having fun just now, so no time soon.

Hee, that was fun.

Man, now each time I'll see 'sponge bob' written somewhere, I'll always have that *great* SG fic popping into my head; "Goodbye to Dreams". Did you read it, sis?

If you didn't you must wonder what the hell is with me, mixing Danny with sponge bob, but I swear it's true! lol

Nothing slashy about it though...well, the story *was* slash...yet not *waves in the air* you need to read it, sis lol

I can't remember reading it, when was it out? Recently?

Of course you know I'm thinking about Sponge Bob and Danny slash now. And that's just twisted. Sponge Bob belongs to Patrick, no one else *eg*

Yeah it was pretty recent. Remember when I talked to you about two SG fics that I really liked? There was the brilliant "Inside Out" and the other one actually was "Goodbye to Dreams". It's a really well written story, full of angst and sweetness and bitterness...but it all ends well, so it's alright *g*

If you want to give it a try :

Goodbye to Dreams (http://www.sg1hc.com/archive/9/goodbyeto.html)

Aread52 seems to be unavailable for the moment *sigh* Thank God for multiple archives around the net *g*

It was a wonderful story, wasn't it? You're welcome for the rec. You know that I don't have *any* problem reccing SG fics! lol And since I'm usually reading more in SG than you do, well it's my job to rec as much as I can *g*
