EEEEEEEEEK
Jun. 17th, 2003 07:27 pmOh man, The Sentinel was just on my tv, and it was perfect! I know I've seen Switchman loads of times, but Jim and Blair were on my tv! Corey and I did a little happy dance when the advert came on before the show. I'm not kidding either! Jim and Blair, in my living room, with adverts and first generation quality. I say again eeeeeeek.
It's been thundering all afternoon and I was convinced the satellite would go off, it did for about ten minutes before TS started, but after much cursing from me the signal came back.
It reminded me of the first time I saw the show. I'd bought the first two seasons from Steffi and watched them all off the belt, just lying on the couch and over dosing on these people that I'd been reading fic about so long.
I remember a few things. One, I couldn't believe how attractive Jim is. In fanfic I'd been a total Blairbabe, had no time for Jim really. Then
castalie and I started to look for Jim stories and pages and we decided he was a pretty funny guy. Remember mouse? Swapping Jim quotes while still being rabid Blair fans. So I popped Switchman in the VCR and just wanted to see Blair, didn't really mind about Jim. Then this guy came out of the jungle in his fatigues ( is that the right word?) and I just went WHOA BABY! Jim was hot! I'd never seen that in his pics or in fic but he was a babe! SO I spent a few minutes shocked at Jim's hotness, then Blair walked into shot and I just went GAH. Speechless.
Then like I said I watched all of the first two seasons in about three days. So much so that the eps blended into one another. Then I mailed Steffi for the next seasons *g*
I also remember thinking where was all the mystical stuff, when was Blair going to be 'Guide' Why was Blair not bouncing constantly, and JIm being all mean and isolated. Also, from a slashers POV I wondered where all the constant touching was.
As I saw all the eps fanon after fanon was destroyed. I love the show, still do. It has plot holes you could fly Voyager through, terrible writing and at times acting. But for me Jim and Blair were it. They might not be joined at the hip like in fic, but they were friends, and you could tell that they loved one another, whether you see that in a platonic or a sexual way. And now I'm all excited about re watching the show. I'll still lol at the plot holes, diss the BOTW and the bad acting, but I'll enjoy myself doing so.
Ending much TS squeeing now *g*
Probably related to this, some advice. If you get a pizza from the oven, using oven gloves to hold the hot tray, then use the gloves and a knife to slide it onto a plate putting the tray down while you slice the pizza up. Remember this. The tray will still be bloody hot when you put it away in the oven two minutes later.so don't pick it up with your bare hands. Can I say OUCH here?
I now have a lovely red line on my fingers, and it hurts, and I'm stupid. I blame Blair myself, distracting me with those eyes *g*
ETA Forgot to say that the Sci Fi channel lost it's feed for a while. Just when Jim and Blair were going in the perfume place. I wasn't pleased I tell you, and I think if you listened carefully you heard the smash of remote control up and down the Uk as TS fans protested. Thank goodness for the repeat tomorrow.

Date: 2003-06-17 12:04 pm (UTC)Remember mouse?
Mousey speaking *g* And do I remember...do I? Man, I love thinking back to the first time we started our TS obsession... and yeah, Jim *is* a funny guy, I just love some of his quotes. We did have our JimQuotes period, didn't we? lol
I'm a Blair Babe, I won't even *try* to deny the thing, but Jim? Man, I love him, and you're right, he's *hot*! Even my mom is regularly telling me how attractive "that Sentinel Guy" is! lol

Sorry about your hand, and it's true that Blair should come with a health warning! lol

But yeah, it was the first ep today.
Glad you remember that time as well as I do. It was so perfect, falling into TS obsession, then discovering that Jim was a babe also, swapping his funny quotes. I'm a Blairbabe too, but I wouldn't kick Jim out of bed ;)
Hee, knew your mom was a cool woman.
Blair *should* come with a health warning 'Warning, this man makes your brain turn to goo and makes you do stupid stuff'

Right now, my teaching day is over (notice the singular, people), so I love everyone! *blows kisses*
Re: Eeeek indeed...
Date: 2003-06-18 05:01 am (UTC)I always get that impression when I'm talking to mouse. Not many mom's would listen to slash chat. I know my mam wouldn't.
Lol, I'm glad that you like the icon still.
Have a great day, * blows kisses back*
