turps: (You make me happy)

As it was a gorgeous evening we decided to go out last night. We ended at the beach as usual and had a walk along the seafront in the dark, then found that some scum had decided it would be fun to bend the windscreenwipers on our car so they were totally unusable. That led to call to the RAC where we found out motability had registered our car wrong last year, giving them a wrong letter on the registration. Which meant we weren't covered by the RAC or insurance. After some irate phone calls by James it was sorted out eventually and the car was towed to the garage to be fixed but it sucks that there's people around who'll do something like that. I mean, I know in the scheme of things it's minor damage but there's no need for it. But we did have a lovely evening and the beach was cool after dark so that was a good thing.

James just phoned. The police have contacted our local newspaper who want to run a story about what happened and man, all I can do is laugh. It must be a slow news day or something. They're going to his work to take pictures and everything, just watch, I bet they'll magnify the damage way beyond what it was. I can't wait to see the picture so I can make fun ;)

Mmmh, sounds really like a lovely evening (except for the stupid damaging assholes of course) and once again I wish that the sea and beaches were close by. *sigh* I love the ocean!

It really was nice. It was pretty deserted and all you could see was darkness where the ocean should be.

I love going there so much, I don't like the sun or sunbathing on the sand but at night or in the evening is another matter. It's so beautiful.

Seriously. Who the fuck would do something as stupid as that.

Does your local newspaper have an online version? :)

What gets me is it was so pointless. What's fun about doing stuff like that?

I think it does, I'll have to look for a link later ;)

Sorry that happened to you guys, you definitely have my sympathy. Vandals recently did that to my wipers (and it's so expensive to repair that the right one is still completely torn off). The worst part is that it's so senseless and pointless...someone getting off on pure cruelty. I have a hard time wrapping my brain around that.

Anyway, interesting that they found it newsworthy. I guess the whole "Pope is Dead" thing must be getting a bit stale now. You should scan the article or something if it runs. :-)

We're lucky in that our car is a mobility one, so they take care of any repair costs, but it still means time in the garage and a lot of inconvenience. Like you though I don't get why anyone would vandalise like that. It's so mindless and stupid.

I'm still astounded that they thought it was newsworthy. I mean, there's the pope, Prince Charles getting married on Sat and a general election has been called yet they're interviewing James about wipers. I know it's only a local paper but still...

Da*n @sshats, doing something like that.

Now, you could be turned into the sob story of the day, you know, the poor crippled car owner and all that. *shudders*

I know, there's no need for it at all.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do that. I hope not but I know what the newspapers are like.

So do I. When my painting group were robbed of six paintings, the 'journalist' found it necessary to mention that the artists whose paintings were stolen had disabilities. As if it matters?! *grr*
