Apr. 7th, 2005 12:49 pmAs it was a gorgeous evening we decided to go out last night. We ended at the beach as usual and had a walk along the seafront in the dark, then found that some scum had decided it would be fun to bend the windscreenwipers on our car so they were totally unusable. That led to call to the RAC where we found out motability had registered our car wrong last year, giving them a wrong letter on the registration. Which meant we weren't covered by the RAC or insurance. After some irate phone calls by James it was sorted out eventually and the car was towed to the garage to be fixed but it sucks that there's people around who'll do something like that. I mean, I know in the scheme of things it's minor damage but there's no need for it. But we did have a lovely evening and the beach was cool after dark so that was a good thing.
James just phoned. The police have contacted our local newspaper who want to run a story about what happened and man, all I can do is laugh. It must be a slow news day or something. They're going to his work to take pictures and everything, just watch, I bet they'll magnify the damage way beyond what it was. I can't wait to see the picture so I can make fun ;)

Date: 2005-04-07 01:33 pm (UTC)Anyway, interesting that they found it newsworthy. I guess the whole "Pope is Dead" thing must be getting a bit stale now. You should scan the article or something if it runs. :-)

Date: 2005-04-07 01:43 pm (UTC)I'm still astounded that they thought it was newsworthy. I mean, there's the pope, Prince Charles getting married on Sat and a general election has been called yet they're interviewing James about wipers. I know it's only a local paper but still...

Date: 2005-04-07 03:46 pm (UTC)So do I. When my painting group were robbed of six paintings, the 'journalist' found it necessary to mention that the artists whose paintings were stolen had disabilities. As if it matters?! *grr*
