Apr. 12th, 2005 07:32 pmCorey went back to school yesterday, sadly I'd lost his homework so he couldn't take it back with him. He'd done it, I remember looking at it during the holidays and he gave it to me to sign but where it's gone I have no idea. So I had to write his teacher a note saying I'd lost it and wasn't that a blast from the past. I had guilt as I wrote, the years flowing back until I was at school and making excuses about not doing my own homework. But what makes it worse is the teacher he has now used to be my teacher back then and I can imagine her steely eyed look so easily. The way she'd look at you and convey that she knew you were lying even if every word you said was true. Then to top it off it's his open night tomorrow and I'll see her in person. I may have to practice my apologising now. 'I'm sorry Mrs Glencross, I didn't mean to lose it.'
We had a guy come to the house today who's helping James with grants etc in terms of him becoming a driving instructor. You may remember that he wants to train as an instructor for disabled drivers but the cost of doing so is way beyond our means. But he went out and found an organisation that will help with start up costs and support. It's very much in the beginning stages just now but it is happening, and that's a great thing. Other than that things have been uneventful as I spend time with my boys and enjoy the spring weather. We've been walking at the beach a few times and I even went plodging for the first time this year. I got out just as fast though but still, there's something lovely about walking barefoot in the sand, even if the freezing north sea makes you scuttle up the beach again with your feet turning blue *g*
So yes, I've been really boring lately but am strangely content with that.
Corey and I are going to make cakes now but before I go. Thank you so much to the person who gifted me paid time, I didn't expect it at all so seeing that e mail from LJ was a lovely surprise. If I can do anything for you in return just yell. If I can't, just know you made me very happy :)

Which is good because you're stuck with me ;)

Date: 2005-04-12 07:11 pm (UTC)Oh, dear. Poor Corey. I know what that's like. I shared two teachers with my sisters, and two with my parents.... Scary, that.
I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for James. :-)
