Corey went back to school yesterday, sadly I'd lost his homework so he couldn't take it back with him. He'd done it, I remember looking at it during the holidays and he gave it to me to sign but where it's gone I have no idea. So I had to write his teacher a note saying I'd lost it and wasn't that a blast from the past. I had guilt as I wrote, the years flowing back until I was at school and making excuses about not doing my own homework. But what makes it worse is the teacher he has now used to be my teacher back then and I can imagine her steely eyed look so easily. The way she'd look at you and convey that she knew you were lying even if every word you said was true. Then to top it off it's his open night tomorrow and I'll see her in person. I may have to practice my apologising now. 'I'm sorry Mrs Glencross, I didn't mean to lose it.'

We had a guy come to the house today who's helping James with grants etc in terms of him becoming a driving instructor. You may remember that he wants to train as an instructor for disabled drivers but the cost of doing so is way beyond our means. But he went out and found an organisation that will help with start up costs and support. It's very much in the beginning stages just now but it is happening, and that's a great thing. Other than that things have been uneventful as I spend time with my boys and enjoy the spring weather. We've been walking at the beach a few times and I even went plodging for the first time this year. I got out just as fast though but still, there's something lovely about walking barefoot in the sand, even if the freezing north sea makes you scuttle up the beach again with your feet turning blue *g*

So yes, I've been really boring lately but am strangely content with that.

Corey and I are going to make cakes now but before I go. Thank you so much to the person who gifted me paid time, I didn't expect it at all so seeing that e mail from LJ was a lovely surprise. If I can do anything for you in return just yell. If I can't, just know you made me very happy :)

Man I know! I bore myself sometimes, so badly that I nod off at the desk. You must be a saint to put up with me.

Which is good because you're stuck with me ;)

That's okay. You know, I just posted about my new purse. I think that really counts as boring. :)

Oh, dear. Poor Corey. I know what that's like. I shared two teachers with my sisters, and two with my parents.... Scary, that.

I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for James. :-)

Thank you.

Well, yes. But they were fresh teachers at the time, and both Mom and Dad were in their teens.

Man, the homework thing stressed me the hell out. I wouldn't have cared if it was something of mine but it was getting him in trouble...eep.

I hope things work out for him too. It could be a great thing, that is if it works. *crosses fingers too*

That's so funny. "Mrs. Glencross..." Poor you! All it takes me is going into my friend's kids' school, smelling that paste and gravel-dust and milk carton, and I'm back to being three feet tall.

She wasn't that bad in the end, she still had that steely glare though *g*

I was about three foot tall too, which wasn't helped by sitting on those small kid sized chairs and desks.

Heh. I am still intimidated by my old teachers, lo these many years later. I can't imagine having to see any of them at a parent/teacher night.

I am sending good luck vibes your way about the grant. That sounds like it would be such a wonderful opportunity!

I'll be glad when the meeting is over tonight that's for sure. You're supposed to leave your teachers behind, not meet them again 20 odd years later.

Thanks for the good vibes, it'll be fantastic if it works out.

ohh - fingers crossed for James - if it can be made to work, I imagine that that would be an excellent thing - from the few times we've met I'd pin hima as being good with people, and I know he loves the driving, so the teaching would totally work [in my mind, anyway ;p] *fingers firmly crossed*

and good luck for tonight missy - it's got to be weird to have his teaches be your old teachers ..

[aside - would Sat or Sun be better for you to visit me in Whitby - not this wekend, but next. I've a slight preference for Sunday, but I will move things around as needed, because I realy want to see you! [if you came down on Sunday we could always go watch the goths v locals football]

Thanks for the good luck wishes, things did work out so things ended well thank goodness.

Sunday will be fine with us. I can't wait! I haven't seen you ages!
