I'm so relieved right now. Coming home from school I realised Moffet hadn't been seen for a while. So Corey and I searched the whole house and she was gone, nowhere to be found. I had visions of her lying dead somewhere after slipping out of the door so when James came home from work he went out to search outside and eventually found one very wet scruffy dirty cat in the next door neighbour's garden. She's been gone all day, in the chucking down rain and now looks like a drowned rat. She's had a cuddle and a bowl of food and I can relax again now she's lying in her spot on the couch.

Stupid cat, doesn't she know I needed a stress free night tonight?

No more posts today I promise. I'm off to do modlike duties at [livejournal.com profile] sentinel_thurs then going to bed with my cat my dog and my James ;)

That's the thing with cats. When they're underfoot and being too chatty, and spilling shit on your desk, you wish they would go away. And the minute they're gone, you worry and fret until they're back and underfoot again. It's very odd. Anyway, I'm glad your girl is safe and sound, if a bit soggy...

Exactly. She has the ability to cause havoc but when she was missing I would have done anything to have her knocking things over or deleting e mails with her foot again.

At least she's fine now, asleep where I can see her.

Glad kitty's all safe and sound! I hope that's a start to a very stress-free night.

What is this, a feline fad!?

Yesterday, as I was leaving for work, Tigers-Eye was nowhere to be found. Grumbling that I was going to be late, I went back upstairs and checked both bedrooms to make sure he hadn't slipped in and then got SHUT in when we attept to shut him out. And lo and behold, there's a cat-sized opening next to the air-conditioner. He'd discovered the outdoors-scented draft the day before, and apparently hid until I shut the doors, and worked his way out overnight.

I spent the whole day at work freaking out, he has no foreclaws, so I don't even know how he got down off the roof without hurting himself, imagining one nightmare sceneario after another with ever-more-disturbing detail... ..and came home to my kitty crying on the other side of the neighbor's fence, wailing that he could hear me but couldn't figure out how to get any closer. Only when I had opened the gate and actually trespassed onto the neighbor's property did he finally dash up to me, *covered* in burrs in his extra-poofy tail, oi...

Crazy felines.

Couldn't live without them.

Man, that's horrible, poor thing.

I'm learning that cats can be too nosy for their own good, wanting to do things that could end badly. I've no idea how Moffet got out, she either ran out so fast that no one saw when we went in and out the house or got out an upstairs window that's opened a crack. However it was I hope she learned her lesson. It's horrible sitting imagining that they could be dead somewhere.

At least they're both fine, that's the most important thing.

It really was scary. I thought we'd lost her for sure. But she's fine now thank goodness.

It is very scary. We live in a mobile home (not for much longer, yay) and a few years ago, my cat got STUCK under it (got in and couldn't get out) and I was terrified because she did it in the middle of January. Day 3, my brother came over and helped me tug off some skirting and get her out.

Sounds like Buddha's little "Outer Space" adventure a few months ago. Lucky Cow was freaking out one morning and we couldn't figure out why, until we realized Buddha was nowhere to be found. We searched the entire house, and looked outside for him, but couldn't find him. We figured he was hiding inside somewhere so we went out to breakfast. When we got home, there was a pitifully meowing kitty in the bushes by the front door. ;) He hasn't tried to run out the door since!

Cats are just too curious for their own good I think. Moffet hasn't tried to get outside since yet either *g*
