Sep. 5th, 2005 11:51 amCorey goes back to school on Wednesday so we've spent the last few days getting ready for that. He's back to a bedtime from tonight ( on holidays he goes to bed when he wants) and Cubs start again tonight too so all things are go in terms of starting school again. He's been off nearly two months now, he's ready to go back, and to be honest, I'm ready for him to go back too. Which I always worry sounds callous, but he likes school and I like non kid time. Yesterday was spent at the boot sale and we made a nice profit. In part due to James buying jelly sweets on Saturday which we bagged up and sold. Thousands of the damn things. They sold though which made the hours bagging worth it.
I've finally sent in my Connotations regrestration form. What should have been simple turned complicated when the copy I printed first went missing then the ink ran out. We decided the best thing to do was e mail it to the SiL who could print it out there, of course after it went I saw the part saying I was agreeing to see erotica and nudity. I bet she's wondering what kind of writer's con I'm going to now *g* I'm so looking forward to the con, not that the nerves aren't starting as they so are. I'm going to see some fabulous people who I love meeting and meeting some new people I really want to see. Sadly that doesn't help the OMG! WhatthehellamIdoing?Help! thing I have going on. I'm just holding onto the fact this time last year I hadn't met anyone from online and now I've met, well maybe not lots but a good handful, and every single one of them have been awesome. So yes, I'll try not to freak out too much this month.
Randomly as James' attempts to talk slash seem to amuse people I'll share this comment. There's an advert on one of the satellite channels at the moment which goes something like, 'watch the good, the gay and the ugly'. James saw that, laughed, turned to look at me and said, 'Lance is the good, Chris the gay, and the other three the ugly. You should write that' At which point I pointedly ignored him ;)
It was the last
absinthe_makes this morning and I miss it already. I've loved reading along these last few months and the end killed me, but in a very good way. I had tears because it ended so perfectly and right and just perfect. I was almost gnawing at my own fingernails as they were driving home, stopped when they indulged in some way hot sex which, guh! Then onto more gnawing before they reached home, where my anxiety turned to joy as JC stood in front of his family, holding Chris' hand and introduced him as his boyfriend. Just. Pure. Glee! The final step after so many complicated months filled with angst, confusion, mix ups, pain, misunderstandings, friendship and love. *has tears again remembering*
I love this story so so much. I love trickc so so much. Thank you again
mickeym and
nopseud for writing it.

Date: 2005-09-05 12:09 pm (UTC)I'm sure I'll have a good time too, I just need to keep reminding myself that. We'll be thinking of you, and Bun, maybe the Lava Lamp story will have to be read in your honour ;)
James needs to keep his ideas to himself I think. Though he did amuse me loads wondering why he assigned each guy the role he did *g*

Oohhhh hahahahaha! That's just all kinds of wrong.
I still can't believe Absinthe is over, but what a ride. It was just beautiful and this morning was the perfect way to bring it to a close. Just. Yes.
*sniffles with you*

It really is wrong. Lance - good. Chris - gay. Justin, Joey and JC - ugly. The man's not right in the head! ;)
It was the perfect ending, I'm just glad I was alone when I read the last part. Because it was just perfect and he held his hand and just....*wipes eyes and sniffles with you more*

Date: 2005-09-05 01:08 pm (UTC)What I want to know now is... There's no The Way You Know Him, There's no Absinthe, I'm caught up on Watch the Wind Blow By (I KNOW it's Joshtin, don't remind me, hee!) . . . dammit what do we read now?! Please don't say Sucker. :-D I need something to help me not go insane and scrub my brain clean. *sigh*

Date: 2005-09-05 01:34 pm (UTC)I think you had to e-mail the organisers and let them know, or else just comment to this (http://www.livejournal.com/community/connotations/45601.html) post. That should be enough maybe? If you want to be double sure I can phone the hotel and tell them in person.
There is a gap without the story, which is weird because it hasn't been a day yet, but it's over and that's just sad :(

Date: 2005-09-05 03:15 pm (UTC)And you know, I don't know very many parents anywhere who don't look forward to the first day of school. Seriously.
Yay for Connotations! You'll have so much fun.

Date: 2005-09-05 03:28 pm (UTC)I know you're right about the first day of school thing, it's just sometimes it seems callous to write it down. Like I can't wait to get rid of him, which isn't true at all. It's just, nearly two months man!
I will have fun at Connotations! I'll just wibble about it a few times first *g*

Well, Chris is the gay, anyway.

Date: 2005-09-05 07:53 pm (UTC)Just remember that if you fail to show up, I will form a posse and drive over to your house to DRAG you to the con :-)
'Lance is the good, Chris the gay, and the other three the ugly. You should write that'
You know, he's right. You really should.
And I'm really glad that you enjoyed the end of Absinthe. That last line was something I'd had in my head for ages.

Date: 2005-09-06 11:25 am (UTC)I seem to remember you using that threat last year, it worked then too ;)
You know, he's right. You really should.
I swear, you people are on as much crack as he is! *g*
So it's you I have to blame for the tears, because that last bit killed me. But it was the perfect place to end, as much as I wanted it to go forever.

Heh. Dude, it made me sniffle every time I read it during edits, and when I posted. Which is cool, because a lot of my favourite stories do that to me.
