Nov. 22nd, 2005 07:34 pmPosting to say I'm still alive, unlike poor Rafael the turtle who sadly perished. It looks like he froze to death due to the heater not working correctly. Poor thing, he was stiff when James fished him out, he survived plummeting into a leg but sadly even his mighty spirit and will to live couldn't overcome the cold water. RIP Rafael.
The reason the heater stopped working was our shower packed up over the weekend. There was no power going through it at all, so after a frantic call to my brother he came to have a look at the fuses, which for some reason are located inches from the ceiling in my kitchen, in a place I have no chance of reaching. Not that I would have know what to do even if I could look at them. After he looked at them and declared they were fuses made before the arc, he plunged the house into darkness as he stopped our electricity supply. The fish tank went off, the computer, the TV, everything that is good in this world! Eventually though he fixed it, which is good, because sitting in the pitch black is no fun at all.
To make the weekend experience complete, we've been selling on e-bay. James listed his mobile and was overjoyed to get a buy it now on it. Of course when I looked the person had just joined e bay, wouldn't use paypal and despite saying he lived in Europe wanted it sent to Nigeria. I don't think so! I pointed James at the e bay forums saying this was a scam, and he spent that evening hovering over our email waiting for the scammer to mail. I wish I were kidding but he really did sit there, fingers poised over the keys as he fumed. I'd laugh if it wasn't so annoying. So, we relist, go to bed, wake up and guess what? It had happened again. I swear James was snorting steam as he sent back a mail telling them where to go, then he reported each one to e bay and relisted, but this time changing the options so no one without a paypal account or a positive rating can bid. He also stated on the listing saying there was no way he'd post to Nigeria, which prompted someone to ask why. He told them and I've just read their reply saying they've sent over £800 of electrical equipment to Nigeria to someone who contacted him off e bay and paid using moneygram. I really hope he hasn't been scammed but it doesn't look good.
Good things were going Christmas shopping. James gets his main pay with all the overtime he's worked on the 21st of Dec, ouch. So this weekend we went out to get some of Corey's things and stuff that needs sending abroad. Saturday we hit the outlet place, it was decorated so nice, with reindeers woven with tiny white lights scattered around the centre. Inside there were speciality stalls as well as the usual shops, so there was a stall selling stuffed olives, which we looked at and passed by, roasted chestnuts and stuff like that. Oh, and a stall run by a man dressed as a monk who was giving out samples of flavoured vodka. The chocolate was nice but we passed on the garlic flavour.
Sunday we hit the metrocenter again, but somehow ended up with the in laws too. The good in that was it was an excuse to go see Santa with the niece, the bad that the MiL is really slow because of her canes, and we practically crawled around the shops. But I got what I needed which is what's important, and of course, Santa!
Catching up on the flist has been insane with posts appearing and disappearing seemingly randomly.
rikes informed me that my last post did that to her, which is good, because from now on if I get no comments I'll blame LJ and not the fact I'm tediously boring.
I still have Supernatural thoughts but I have to go grocery shopping when James gets home, and really, an hour isn't long enough to ramble about the wincest love and the beauty of Dean's ass. So I'll keep them to myself and think of them as we battle through the freezing fog and the insanity that is people shopping late at night.
Lastly, because it seems it's vital I say this, I've passed the minimum amount of words needed for SeSa. I even have a plot. Go me.
ETA: I'm of the suck. Thank you so much to the person who gifted me paid time. It was really appreciated, by me anyway. I can't speak of the people who are stuck with me for longer ;) *sends smooches to anon person* You made me smile a lot today.

Date: 2005-11-22 07:46 pm (UTC)James was so cute though, he was like a cyber avenger, ready to take action on those who scam helpless e bayyers.
I have so many thoughts about wincest and Dean's ass, I just want time to actually write them down. I mean, I think about it plenty, it's just the actual typing that's the problem at the moment ;)
Hmmmmm, bottom!Dean. I'm having a fic flashback.

Date: 2005-11-22 08:19 pm (UTC)I am sorry to hear about Rafael, but congratulations on your SeSa progress! Would you like to write mine for me while you're at it? Yes? Wonderful.
I'm glad you're still alive!

Date: 2005-11-23 09:42 am (UTC)It's obvious that Dean and Sam have hot monkey sex anytime they can, they check into a motel and the first thing Sam does is strip down his brother, throw him on the bed and show him some man on man love, and Dean of course takes it, snarking all the while.
Thank you for your condolences about Rafael, he really was a wonderful turtle, and yes! Of course I'll write your SeSa, heck. I'll write all 109 of them, powering out three stories a day until they're done!
I'm glad I'm alive too!

Date: 2005-11-23 09:45 am (UTC)It really has, I only knew I got comments to this post because I came to check. Which is fine in this case but doesn't help for my own comments or old posts....sigh.
Oh well, it could be a heck of a lot worse.

Date: 2005-11-23 09:46 am (UTC)Having no power was the worst. Sitting in the pitch black with none of your home comforts working was horrible.

Date: 2005-11-24 10:48 am (UTC)It's a shame you can't do SeSa because it is fun. Frustrating as hell too at times of course.
