turpsFor the last few years I haven't changed my default, except at Christmas. Now it's time to change it again, because it's December and therefore time for santa hatted euro!braces and braids Chris to take centre stage for a month. _jules_ who hatted him last year, and here he is again, watching over me as the Christmas season starts :)
It was James' birthday yesterday. Corey and I decorated a cake for him, with lots of iced words and vague flower shapes as well as a load of silver and gold candles. It was impressive I must say. Also, as usual the birthday tradition is to decorate the house for Christmas, which we did. At least we got the majority of it up. Some of the outside lights need to be strung still and the ceiling streamers need to be hung. Our house is well on its way to looking like an explosion in a glitter and light factory which is cool, because that's just how we like it. I'll put the rest up sometime tonight, right now I'm going to have a hot drink and take some needed online time.
Corey's been off yesterday and today and I've just had to take him to the drs with me, which he wasn't impressed about at all, but there was no one to watch him so I had no choice. I've also finished the painting yesterday at last and I feel incredibly proud and accomplished. Professional decorators would probably be horrified at the finish but I don't care. Corey and I did it all ourselves and I think it looks great. But man, if I see another piece of sandpaper or paintbrush soon I think I'll scream.
I did go to the dentists and had my crown put back in. Shame it fell out again the next day but this time I managed to swallow it as I'm just that good. So I'll have to fit in another dentist visit soon.
Watching the recorded I'm a Celebrity this morning amused me so much when Antony from Blue started talking about boybands and said he liked later BSB songs then started to sing some of their stuff then Pop. It was like, Ant&Dec, sad reality show, Antony from Blue, BSB, Nsync! Can it get any better? Though bah for Ant&Dec saying only 13 year old girls like Backstreet.
I got my first Christmas card today and it was a gorgeous one too! Thank you so much Dine *mwah*
And there you go, some of what I've done the last few days. I'll spare you the details of late night shopping trips and the ahem tense moments putting on the tree lights, because right now the tree is sparkling, I have a finished room, it's cold and wet but I don't have to go outside and I have hours without anything needing to be done. Things look pretty good just now.
ETA: Anyone that watches House. Like a lot of people I have a file that cuts off at the end. Before I redownload can anyone tell me what happens at the very end of the latest ep so I know what I'm missing.
