Dec. 23rd, 2005 07:32 pmI've been of the suck lately about birthdays. So, happy belated birthday to both
_bettina_ and
hammerhead22. I hope you both had great days!
Yesterday was an insanely busy day, but at one point James managed to both crack me up and go WTF!? at the same time. We were talking about porn, as you do you know, and he said that I wrote porn. I was like, I don't at all, at which point he said that I wrote stuff with words like stroking his rigid staff, Justin plunged his quivering manmeat, spurting shaft and other horrors like that. When I recovered enough to speak I informed him that I don't use phrases like that at all! Man, he thinks I'm a Nifty writer. One day I'm going to print out a story and make him read it, show there's a lack of quivering manmeats and pearl necklaces.
Anyway, moving on. Wednesday Corey and I went to the pantomime. It was only a local one performed by three people but it was okay. If nothing else it allowed me to talk to my dad for a few hours as his fiancée organised the tickets, so he was there with her and assorted members of his other family.
Yesterday was insane. We took Corey to school, drove straight to the in laws to help the SiL move back to her house. From there onto the supermarket to buy the rest of the Christmas food. It was packed in there and we waited in line for an hour to get to the tills, though a woman two trollies ahead who fainted did provide some excitement. So, we drove home, unpacked and shoved any freezer stuff away as we were running late for Corey's carol service. Got there and it was standing room only, but my nanna had got there early so she'd saved a seat for me. Listened to carols, watched a load of kids dressed up as animals walk by, and man, one kid was dressed as the most evil camel ever! I swear I'd run the other way if I saw that thing in a dark alley! Left Church, picked Corey up from school, took nanna home, picked up mam and Kay. Drove to Sunderland, bought the last of James' Christmas gifts, dropped off mam and Corey at home, drove to Ikea, bought gifts, went to metrocenter, bought stuff. Drove home, wrapped gifts, collapsed in bed.
Today is going to be far more low key. After the drs we're heading of to Raby castle. You can see the deers there and they also have the most gorgeous traditional santa's grotto. It's pretty relaxed, in the open air and just far removed from the shops and bustle everywhere else. We'll go there and recharge our batteries as the next few days will be crazy. I doubt that Corey actually believes anymore, but that's fine, because seeing the deers and a really good santa is part of Christmas. Even if you don't believe in Santa you can still feel the magic in the air, and that's so cool you know?
I really need to go, my appointment is in half an hour and I'm not dressed which is a worry. Okay, going now!
And I've been and am back again as I didn't have time to post earlier. We did go see the reindeers, no Santa though as we went to a different park, but oh my goodness! The reindeers! They were gorgeous and you could feed them and they'd eat out of your hand and they were just the cutest things ever, and I may have fallen in love with their little reindeerey selves. There were little fluffy youngsters and stags with their huge horns, though the biggest ones kept away and were obviously contemptuous of us humans and the other reindeer who fed from our hands. There were also three swans who'd eat from your hand too but I tried to keep out of their way because man, swans are big up close and they had huge sharp beaks and little beady eyes. So yeah, it was a lovely day.
Now James has taken Corey to the cinema so I can get all of Corey's gifts wrapped, which I'm going to go do after I send some thanks. I've received more beautiful cards, thank you

Date: 2005-12-23 07:49 pm (UTC)You should pick your top three, print 'em up really pretty, and give them to him for Christmas. I can pick for you, if you're feeling shy--or you could make a poll! That would be so cool. Then you could put a card on it from you and all of us that voted. *makes anime eyes at T* You know you want to.
And reindeers! Baby reindeers, even! *is so jealous*
Also, tell Corey congratulations on his successful performance!
And now I think I've abused enough exclamation points for one comment, and I'll go...

Ahahahaha. You're another one that wants to traumatise James. Then again, it would show him what I do write *g*
Trickynicky! YAY!
*smooches you*
How're you doing, honey?

Sounds very...interesting. Were there any lobsters present? Spider-Man? *g*
Reindeer are not gorgeous and/or cute, they are a stupid (you look into their eyes and see nothingness) bl@@dy nuisance that crowd the roads and get killed that way. Yes, I have an agenda against reindeer. Some of the Saami in northern Sweden keep them and they're supposed to be in the forests but they run on the roads a lot and get into all kinds of trouble...so it's good Santa has MAGIC reindeer, which are different. *nods*

Date: 2005-12-23 11:41 pm (UTC)Oh man, I really hope not! Those phrases are fine for crackfic, not so good with the real stuff *g*

Nope, no lobsters, lots of sheep though ;)
There were the first reindeers I've seen up close so I don't have any real issues about them, but they did look cute to me, sorry. Forgive me?

Date: 2005-12-23 11:46 pm (UTC)All sex scenes in fic look the same to me...as long as the word "cock" is in there, I almost put it in the same pile as the crackfic... :-/ But I'm sure realy slash writers put my stuff in the crackfic pile too...since no one in their right mind would write "penis".... *shakes head @ self* I guess it's a flaw.
Nope, no lobsters, lots of sheep though ;)
But there were at least two lobsters present at the birth of Jesus! ;-)

*hmm* You might have to write TrickC owiefic with a bad JC owie he might not recover from. *eBil cackle*

Oh man, I'd love to see his face if I did give him a print out of my stories. He's never read anything I've written, which is why he seriously thinks I use phrases like manmeat etc, and just no.

Date: 2005-12-23 11:52 pm (UTC)When you have a dent from a reindeer butt on the hood of your car, you kind of fail to see their cuteness. At least I do. ;-þ
I'm almost certain both male and female reindeer have horns and that they're the only deer species that does.
You're right about the horns being present in both the male and the female. A funny thing is that during the winter the male loses his while the female doesn't, and so she gains a higher status in the wintertime. Then they lose them after they've had calves in May.
They're the only species in Sweden where both genders have horns, but I don't know about other countries.
Yes, I live in Norrbotten, how could you tell? ;-þ
